Really. They get arrested for reasons that only exist in a sitcom, then their trial ends up being a parade of character witnesses made up of almost every major guest star from the entire series. It ends with the main characters jailed for a year. The last non-credits scene is them literally...

Saw the finale.

I havent kept up with Discovery since season 2. Have I missed anything of substance? Does it feel like Star Trek at any point or is it still a generic sci-fi series with a Star Trek coat of paint?

Ok I’m hyped. I was hyped for season 1 and was let down. I skipped season 2, but dammit I’m letting it happen again. This looks to be a proper follow up to TNG (unless trailers always lie) and I’m here for it.
