    Harris-Walz / Dems

How about just a maximum age? Then it won't matter how long or short of a time they've been in office, just whether they're currently over the hill or not.

Who's trying to break the internet today?

In theory, they could; in practice, that would probably already be illegal under antitrust laws. And while, yes, our government has a history of not bothering to enforce those, I don't know why they'd be any more inclined to enforce net neutrality if they brought it back. I feel like this is...

Who's trying to break the internet today?

It would be interesting to know how, exactly, things would be improved with the new rules in place. Not to say net neutrality isn't something worth enshrining into law, but I remember just how panicked everyone was the last time this came up, saying that the internet was going to become like...

In an ideal world, they'd all get turned into something the city actually needs, but you know they're all just going to get bought by some other evil billionaire. Probably Hilton.

So what does not being allowed to do business in New York entail for someone who owns a lot of valuable real estate in New York? I assume he'll have to shut down all his hotels, but is he even allowed to sell them off, or is that considered "doing business in New York" too? Is he going to be...

Climate change (because it's still political for some reason)

How can people be safer than ever from something that according to you has never existed? Surely we can only ever be exactly as safe as we've ever been.

The problem is that like 90% of artists now post exclusively on X, including the ones who used to be regulars elsewhere. So on top of everything else, I'm convinced that site infects people with a mindvirus that makes them forget there's a rest-of-the-internet out there.

Looking at the replies, this is apparently yet another one of those "Content creator finally reads the terms of service on the site they've been posting for years, discovers that it's full of scary-sounding chemicals legal terms granting the site broad rights to do things, and assumes the worst"...

Hmm, I've often thought of the idea of time travel as a tourist industry, but a retirement community sounds like a solid business idea too.

"I'm staying on the hellsite to enjoy all the memes about how it's a hellsite" This isn't like moving to Mars or something, dude; they still have memes on the rest of the internet.

Unity's idiocy; charging developers every time a player installs a game

Also, with Counter-Strike 2 on track to release later this year, this would be a great time for Valve to announce that Source 2 is finally getting a public release, with the same generous licensing terms they were planning to offer a zillion years ago.

Unity's idiocy; charging developers every time a player installs a game

I got an email today from Humble Bundle offering dev courses on Godot. I can't believe I'm saying this in 2023, but well played, Humble Bundle.

Phenylephrine is finally recognized as nothing more than a Placebo.

That explains so much. Wonder if I can sue the FDA for destroying my ability to be productive during the fall every year since I got out of college.

So I am making a video game.....

Oh boy did it ever. At least one studio has basically said they're delisting their game once the new terms go into effect. Though I really don't know how they intend to enforce them on existing games that are running on older builds, unless they've been bundling in spyware for years in preparation.

There's no scenario where Trump has enough power to unilaterally overturn the 22nd amendment and doesn't just use that power to declare himself dictator for life instead. He's just being an idiot who doesn't think more than negative-two seconds ahead of what he's saying, as usual.

Why are banned users not displayed as such?

The user known both as ooo-baby and diamondgirl had their accounts banned, but there's not a big red "BANNED" under their name like there would be on virtually any other forum. Is that feature just not available on this engine?

    Baldur's Gate

It's definitely a vastly different experience from the sorts of RPGs that have come out in the past couple decades. It feels almost like what you might get if you tried to make a fantasy RPG in the XCOM: Enemy Unknown engine. Also you actually roll virtual D20s for skill checks; how wacky is...
