I've always said that Armada and Energon were inverses of each other. Armada's early episodes are not great, some fairly bad. But once the Starsabre is assembled the series really starts going places and becomes , imo, honestly enjoyable. Energon keep that momentum going... and then fumbles...

The whole meta-fiction for the early part of the line was energon focused; they stated it was the reason they went with Cyb Metroplex, becuase he's able to mine energon. But it seems that between the Energon Monsters and Netflix series being scrapped, the line lost whatever fiction narative it had.
