One somewhat lesser known series you might want to look up is 'Night Gallery' also by Rod Sterling; and I think has ONLY ever been Homaged in Simpsons and maybe Tiny Toon Adventures. It's got some really good stuff in there, but its been years since I seen any of it.

I think Futurama did a better job at this in the recent "Zapp gets Cancelled" episode. Still a very off putting society, but in a way that's not just one long gross-out gag.

So while watching this, a thought came to me about Fang; He should be a regular Antagonist for Knuckles seeing as he's a treasure hunter and the Master Emerald would be a major treasure.. Also probably have connections to Rogue in a modern continuty since their in a similar line of work.
