  1. Blasted Effing Blast Effects are Eating My Transformers!

We may want to spin off the 'plastic ate my toys!' stuff, we don't want to turn it into TFW. For all the issues I have with their often inappropriately hostile posters, they actually have a thread in their toy forum called 'PSA: New toy plastic condition discovered (melted soft rubbery parts)'...

That didn't stop the DC people from getting a Parralax figure. Several versions, actually. And Krimzeek for us a couple times at least, though in his case he did have a clearly defined appearance.

Yes, sorry, I didn't mean to cause a panic. I was referring to just that, the evaporation of the chemicals as the plasticizer leeches out. This is why a toy on an open shelf will often age better than one 'MISB' when it comes to these reactions. And anything porous works fine, I keep mine in...

There's nothing wrong with using them, you just don't want to LEAVE them for a long period. For a picture or something they work great. The paper trick does work, though. For safety's sake I'd wrap them and put the in a drawer or something where they can just do their plastic off-gassing...

What really happened is this is the edited version Swindle sold Hasbro when the Transformers found Earth and he got involved in merchandising (do you REALLY think a war lasted FOUR MILLION years without degenerating into a mass-marketed scripted pseudo-sport?). The REAL story was even MORE...

It's not just blast effects that are a problem, any soft plastic MAY do the same thing to hard plastic it's near, especially if that plastic is painted, for some reason. The soft fins on Combiner Wars airplanes of all sorts (and POTP ones too like the Decepticon Powermasters) can do it. One of...

No problems with mine, but I did add a small amount of red paint on the wings, as the stickers just didn't hold up. It's just Gundam Marker so it comes off with alcohol if I needed to. hardest part was masking it. I also added the guns and sword blade from the DNA kit, the rest was left...

Is the clear Starscream that fragile? If I still had my Ghostbusters (lost to last years various emergencies) I'd have ordered that set in a heartbeat!

Sorry, no jokes on this one, except maybe on me as I never expected anyone would want to see the Safari Ltd Armored T-Rex and Triceratops I added to the Dinoforce set in better lighting. I don't have a light box, but I tried it with a white floor-mirrored shelf and an LED stick light. These...

On the whole 'distorted legends' concept, somehow I have this idea of a Minicon who has heard of Rodimus Prime and Optimus, seen some very degraded old pictures from the distant past, and comes up with the idea of styling himself as Rodimus, thinking where the Matrix would go is where a cockpit...

I'm confused on one thing with Star Convoy/OP whatever. Micromaster Hot Rod has a little truck that he rides inside that turns into a small battle station? Is this some sort of Pretender Vehicle homage or something else? It just seems an odd inclusion. I'd think if they were doing that...

It looks like Star Convoy does NOT have the smaller Optimus inside a lot of us speculated on for a PowerMaster pretool. So it may be taking budget from that.

And worse, even in robot mode his Princess was in another castle... Odd thought, back in original G1 days my first Transformer was Thundercracker. So when I heard about the Aerialbots, I was thrilled. Till I saw the actual toys and how tiny they were compared to the Deception jets. I wonder how...

I saw the leak pics finally, and I couldn't figure out why someone (other than me, I know I've done it quite a bit and don't have a leg to stand on for complaining) was posting Bigfoot pics on a Transformers board, but then I saw the clearer ones that just popped up, and thought "Oh, wait, never...

I think that's where I get confused as to the people who start arguments on the various options. They exist because different people want different things. Hasbro Predaking is a MUCH better toy for actually doing toy-things. Feral Rex was a great centerpiece, but for letting a kid actually...

I and a friend who has the Titan took pictures of them side by side when POTP Predaking came out. It illustrates well the problem a lot of 3rd party combiners had, despite being shorter, the LACK of hollowness actually impairs the posability as the joints of the heavier built one didn't hold up...

I loved Feral Rex. Sold it and my TFSS combiners during a year of medical and house emergency mess. It was 3rd party, but it was SOLID....
