People keep saying that Unicron was delayed, but it really wasn't. Unicron was always said to be released in 1st quarter of 2021. It started shipping in March. Yes, the end of the 1st quarter, but there's never been an indicator that this wasn't the plan all along.

It's not like all those sites are centrally-linked. I don't think folks appreciate the technical issues involved.

It is all-but certain that most of the International orders (and other third-party site orders) have NOT yet been added. We're probably ALREADY past Tier 1, but until those orders are added, we won't know for sure. It's a lot easier for most of those sites to send their numbers to Hasbro all at...

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

I also feel bad for the non-idiots with non-COVID medical problems that can't get the care they need because hospitals are full of COVID cases.

Timey Wimey Business- a thread for Doctor Who

"Cautiously optimistic" seems like the exact phrase, yes.

Most of your post falls into the realm of opinion, and I'm not really interested in arguing yours vs. mine right now. But I can't let that last (quoted) comment pass. It's not like that half a million is all going into funding the gun. The bulk of that is still just producing that 3000 extra...

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

I expect you're right. I sadly also expect that no amount of shaming will change their minds. They're past such humane concerns.

What do you suggest a Tier should be, then?

Maybe. I certainly agree that this tells us that the shield has been designed. It's less clear that it's intended for Tier 3. They could add it on to Tier 2 (or Tier 1, or just the base figure, even). It's all about what they think is necessary to sell as many units as possible.

    New Quantum Leap?

As I recall, the daughter was supposed to specifically be Sammy Jo, Sam's daughter via Abigail Fuller from the Trilogy of episodes in Season 5.

Yeah, I'd rather a solution I might actually be alive to see....

    The COVID Vaccination Thread

I don't think I'll ever understand the repeated use of the "it's not 100%" argument. Apparently "not 100%" is EXACTLY the same as "0%" in these people's minds....

    HasLab Victory Saber

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that what some folks are concerned about isn't really covered by the "there's no risk" argument.

Well, again, the most immediate posts in the thread are talking about waiting for a specific item that's hidden behind the first tier level. There actually IS a risk of having the item succeed at 11,000 buyers, but fail to reach 14,000. Those folks are now out their money for a toy they didn't...

    The California Recall Election

Replying to this from the comfort of the election results (FYI, I'm in CA). I'm rather opposed to the system, as it stands, as well, for the simple principle (which I've articulated at length elsewhere) that no one should ever be granted leadership of a region where the majority of voters would...

While I agree with Daith, Sabrblade's position is entirely viable if the V-Lock Cannon is considered essential to enjoying the figure. If that's your position, you wouldn't want to be stuck with paying for an "incomplete" toy, should it reach 11,000, but not 14,000.

Reconstruction of 2018 SDCC Preview Breakfast Interview with John Warden

I'm happy to link back to The Allspark (in fact, wouldn't dream of failing to do so). As to providing the assets, do you think there's an interest? Here are the Google Photos. I linked to the archive.org version above.

    Star Trek General Discussion

I wonder if the "modern day" subplot in Picard was one way that show (specifically having an elderly lead they'd like to keep healthy!) worked around COVID-19 restrictions. Less time spent with interior sets could easily mean more ability to isolate and/or do scenes outdoors.
