I'm not quite at the "they convinced me" state, but I do have to admit that Bomb-burst really does get the look they're going after "right." It's still not a Pretender once you've ditched the outer shell, IMHO, but if they refuse to do Pretenders correctly, and insist on doing the characters...
I really can't emphasize enough the point I made a while back about the fact that the language we now use (and, thus, that modern Bible translations use) for homosexuality did not exist until the late 19th century, and that the passages in question were probably intended to speak to issues of...
I won't argue further. Certainly I grant that such things are possible (given the desire and resources to make the effort), and never suggested otherwise. This is more about assuming things that not only haven't even been announced yet, but which Hasbro has specifically said they think is beyond...
If you all say so. I don't think they're so similar.
I mean, sure, they're at least as close as some of the BotCon toys of the past, but I'd hope that's no longer our standard.
I don't assume that, just because robot modes look superficially the same, one character (often with a radically different vehicle mode) can easily be mapped onto another.
It's perhaps worth noting that, on the original Datsun brothers, the windshield is by far the most frequently broken part. I still remember the horror of my original Prowl when the babysitter accidentally broke it during transformation....
But, to those who say they like the look of transparent...
I've not, for the most part, had any issues with transparent plastic breakage, but I've long argued that we don't need to have windows made of the stuff. Paint works just fine, and then many of us wouldn't have so many of these concerns.
I'd certainly appreciate having the Micromaster combiners actually combine. Seriously, none of those toys physically connected to any of their teammates directly. Everything was via connecting accessories!
That was me, as well. I really wanted Scrounge, as well as the new-mold hands and feet, but the UW version components otherwise tended to be better (I kept Hasbro's Afterburner, but otherwise only use the UW components).
I wasn't picking up on the "not done recently" element of your list, but while I don't agree that the CW version was especially accurate, I'm not sure an "accurate" Scrounge would be an especially interesting toy, either, so it's all good. Carry on.
A touch of a side note, but relevant. Trump thinks that announcing his candidacy will protect him from prosecution. Not just becoming president. Some folks have talked like we've still got a couple of years to get these prosecutions taken care of. I'm not saying those people are wrong, but I am...
He specifically was complaining about the introduction of gods and mythology (I'm not looking up the exact quote, I understand) to a "GI Joe, but with robots" concept. Sounds pretty reductionistic to me.
Less fully-involved in Who than Cribbins, but we've had a couple other Who-connected passings in the past few days. David Warner and Tony Dow (links to the Tardis wiki).
