What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

"Truly repulsive and disgusting" is pretty extreme language for a Republican to use against one of their own, especially since they've been known to excuse far worse than cheating on his wife (even if it's with a man). But he is a cabinet member, after all, so there's no risk his vacant seat...

Either that, or they're such cartoon villains that they've actually got the Dick Dastardly impulse to cheat at every single opportunity even when they're already well ahead. (EDIT: I mean, that's exactly what Watergate was, wasn't it? There's precedent for this in our own history!)

    Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

I guess one would normally expect such a successful and high-profile grifter to be a little cleverer than just collecting credit card numbers and then hitting them with blatantly fraudulent charges. And maybe there was a time when he would have been. But at this point, why bother? He could...

Yeah, well, the last time the left and the right united over something, it lasted about a week before the right got bored and moved on to hating minorities again.

Wait, is Grok open source? Can anyone just spin up their own instance of it? How did the guy who refuses to let people fix their own damn cars sign off on that?

Or she knows that her party won't control the government forever, and wants to preempt Democrats using it as a pretense to prosecute oil companies without having to pass any laws of their own first. Because lord knows the Democrats in Congress are utterly incapable of taking decisive action on...

Also this would ban cloud seeding, which I assume is legitimately useful.

The Twit destroying Twitter is a Twaitor

We wondered what it would take to get the right to splinter... And we're going to keep wondering, because Elon is the most unpopular person on earth right now. Trump's fans all hate him, and he's too extreme to be liked by anyone else. Who's he think he's even going to find to run under this...

    AI don't trust techbros

I nearly clicked off when I caught them talking up Bitcoin as something that might hypothetically have had some good reason to exist at some point, but I trudged through anyway and got to this part: Hey, isn't this pretty much exactly what I said a few months ago?

    Harris-Walz / Dems

I think we all need to keep in mind that we're still discussing an election for mayor of New York City. At least for the immediate term, his position on nationalized health insurance or the war in Iran are far less relevant to the electorate than, say, his position on plastic straws.

Anyway it's not going to matter how the media spins Mamdani's campaign because having to split the vote with two other people is what's actually going to cost him the election, and no one is going to try to deny that once it's happened.

Wait, there's TWO other liberals that are gonna be on the ballot? OK at this point I am begging you to tell me that New York City uses a ranked ballot system and I just didn't realize it otherwise this whole situation is so much dumber than I realized.

I say let the narrative that people genuinely want what Mamdani is selling play out to its logical conclusion. What's the risk, that voters will just suddenly forget why they don't want to vote for Cuomo and do it anyway?

The US Supreme Court and its decisions

All courts are biased. There is no such thing as being apolitical if your job is literally being part of the government. The only question is whether it's biased in favor of what's right, or what's wrong.

You do realize that if anyone actually has an answer to that question, it may be unwise to blurt it out in a public space.
