I kinda get it. The current seeker mold is just an upscale of the old CHUG one. This sounds like they wanted to do like Prime and Magnus and some of the others and try to make another mini-masterpiece. From a purely design standpoint, I can understand why they would want a more modern looking...
this feels like the least interesting way to do this. with Turtles and Thundercats we got the properties actually interacting, while here its just them cosplaying as transformers.
Since Daredevil is now offically part of the MCU, we should count David Tennant as Purple Man from Jessica Jones as at the very least, a well done Villian even as a one off for the series.
Having the TR version, which is much more accurate to the original toy, I'm fine with this one not having the tank mode; just because it was very half-assed on the previous SS86 one and I don't think he ever used it in the cartoon.
And now comparison with the old version:
The only think I kinda don't like is the loss of his clear plastic. Otherwise, I love his richer colors and the new panel to his his head. which also just fills in the gap on his back.
I agree that the mangled face helps give the mold a bit of its own identity beyond just "black repaint". I wouldn't have minded if they took a lil bit of creative liberty and made the face a slightly different color from the helmet tho
I got him for $15, and I am very happy with him overall. He's a great budget Prime. He honestly looks really good in robot mode, his transformation feels like an extremely streamlined version of SS86. His Truck mode isn't perfect, but it looks pretty good when paired with a trailer. I do agree...
