Yeah, Suruga-ya is sold out of Leafback and Hydrophant (I believe AmazonJP is too but havnt looked as close, they might have some second hand for more). Suruga-ya has the two packs and the singles of Op, Megs, LIghtlong and Capt Volca. They also have Drillnohorn and Thunderbeak preorders up that...
I'd LOVE a set of Cave/Underground themed bots with a Glow in the dark plastic gimmick. That feels real 80s to me in the best way.
-ZacWilliam, I don't know what they'd turn into (ok they'd probably have a drill tank guy)...
In Middle School and High School in the Late 80s/90s Peter David was my favorite writer easy, and kinda my hero.
He's why I collected the Incredible Hulk (I own every issue from the original #1 through the end of Peter's run.) It is the book that got me into buying all the Marvel Comics. I had...
After literally 8 years of it hanging around my bedroom and me vaguely stressing that it was eventually gonna get accidentally folded or destroyed I finally framed the Hascon 2017 Titanmaster Cereal poster.
It would have been more striking with the poster side out but the cereal box side is the...
Who is your favorite Combiner Team Member from:
1) Superion - Sky Dive, I love his design/colors way more than the rest of the Aerialbots. And his personality (Modest Bookish History Geek who is secretly an ace pilot) is one of my favorites.
2) Menasor - I think Dead End because over the top...
Just a heads up, Suruga-ya just opened preorders for Drillnohorn and Thunderbeak. They still have their current free shipping to the US promo going until tomorrow and it seems to apply if you order them now, far as I can tell. I figured I wasn't gonna do better than $20 something each shipped...
Thoughts about Hydrophant after fiddling with him for an afternoon.
1) He's a really great toy.
2) Robot mode is very poseable and solid. Joints are tight (elbows are almost too tight).
3) His robot mode reminds me of the best Beast Wars/Machines era Basics. Just a really good small robot...
On the upside I just picked up my last minute no tariff free US shipping Hydrophant from the Post Office. Yay. If it wasn't for the Tarrif thing and De Minimis ending I would definitely order from Suruga-ya again.
-ZacWilliam, good service and free US shipping was hard to beat.
Turns out there was a thing called the De Minimis exception. It was a loop hole where nothing under $800 value was being charged tarrif fees because it was too small potatoes to bother with the paperwork and such.
So that's why me and others ordering Wild King didn't get charged.
Bad News...
Is that him saying "Mud" after his sentences the same way Lightlong sometimes says "Light?"
-ZacWilliam, took two semesters of Japanese in college but has forgotten the vast majority of it.
Well at least my Hydrophant slipped through under the wire.
-ZacWilliam, wonder if the hate on this one will make the moron in charge of it give it up quickly
Awesome. I've been waiting to see that one translated! Out of curiosity what sort of verbal tik does Hydrophant have in the Japanese? Is it just the panic-ed blubbering?
-ZacWilliam, May 14th feels like a long wait imo
So according to tracking my Hydrophant has landed in New York City, cleared customs and been given to the US Postal Service. (Still no mention of or request for any Tariff money.)
Hoping he's delivered in the next few days...
-ZacWilliam, wish I'd ordered Leafback too before he'd sold out on...
At the beginning of the week I ordered one (Hydrophant) off of Suruga-ya.com as a test case because they were having one of their I understand fairly frequent "free shipping to the US" promos.
It was listed at right around $20 with the exchange rate at the time and there was a couple dollars in...
Got mine today. Magnus and Blue Bolts were awesome.
Optimus looked fine, but out of an abundance of caution I unscrewed the bottom of the back before using the center spine. It then was pretty easy getting the spine out with just those two screws removed. I sanded the sides of the offending...
