I just now noticed that he has an Autobot symbol, which is unusual for a Nemesis Prime, I think? I could be 100% wrong on that, though. I'm sure it makes sense in this story, as I assume this Nemesis Prime will literally be normal Optimus Prime corrupted or controlled by an evil force as...
My one complaint is the gap under the back of Abyss Rain's back piece. I wonder if the energy-symbol-thingy can fit between it and the main body to close that gap up?
Liking all of these. Nemesis Prime is a bit boring as a by-the-numbers Optimus repaint, but that Megatron is pretty beautiful. Very surprised that the the Leaf-energy bird wasn't in this wave, as it was the only leaked figure that hasn't shown up yet. Did it get cancelled, or are there more...
From Amazon Japan, we have the official reveal of Wave 3 of Takara's Transformers Wild King toyline! This wave features redecos of the two core bots as Nemesis Prime and Shadow Megatron, each coming with an energy beast partner: Lavamuleta, a fire-element bull, for Nemesis Prime and Frost...
According to the wiki, the missiles from the barely-released Megatron/Starscream redeco of Dreadwing/Smokejumper were glow in the dark plastic.
But other than that and the slot car set, there really hasn't ever been glowing plastic Transformers which is, frankly, inexcusable.
Cyber glow Megatron. This the first use of glow in the dark plastic since G2 unless I'm mistaken. Hopefully this gets used some more, GitD is always a fun gimmick.
I'm not normally one to like it when Beast Wars and G1 characters of the same name get smooshed together, but I actually find that G1 Dinosaur Megatron extremely cool. May prefer if the black portions faded more organically into the silver to look more like a realistic animal color pattern, but...
When I first heard of these, I was pretty excited as I actually love the Zuru 5-Surprise Dino Strike figures (they're 90% of the way to being Dino Riders, just missing little seats and, well, the riders), but the execution of the Transformers ones are a little lacking. Thinking I can skip these...
That is a huge improvement. In it's original form, it's just too large a swath of plain teal. The caution striping and Decepticon symbol really help break it up.
I do love the large scale of them and the fact that they can be a playset (something that is far too rare in today's toy ecosystem). I like to keep mine surrounded by roughly Legends of Cybertron scale figures to make them seem even larger.
Classics Prime really was a great design. I still have my original from back in the day, so no need for a KO, but for anyone that wasn't collecting 19 years ago (damn I'm old) it would be a good way to experience it.
