Alright, so I was helping make dinner (shepards pie! Yum!) and we were listening to the radio. An ad played from the quebec government in which the population was encouraged to consume differently by fixing things instead of replacing them.
I don't know how long this ad has been running, but...
How are they supposed to challenge their removal in the district they were removed from: when the first step is shuffling them around the entire ******* country and refusing them their due rights and privileges, like phones calls and attorneys?
Not defending the right... but american cars (despite always being absolute hogs.) used to be worthwhile. They were rugged, hard to kill, easy to fix. You could do minimal maintenance and still have it run for 20 years. Hell, there's an 69 ford f100 running around up here being used as a work...
He found some shmucks that don't do the work anyway, and won't quit because of poor working conditions. They are there for the pills and the paycheque and nothing more.
Congrats, you broke the code: the stock market only currently exists to prop up oligarchs and billionaires.
They did it on purpose: to get paid to house foreign prisoners. Free labour for el-salvador and an "under the rug" solution for dictators across the world. If they work those slaves hard...
Okay... so what does california care? 5th biggest economy in the world, and the US crashes even harder without them. What incentive do they have to stay?
Oh, no timing involved. The crashing is still trumps fault: it would have kept growing otherwise. No connection to reality, but mad profits for the rich, so they were incentivized to keep it going.
The buffet indicator was at 230% before trump took office, so it was about 110% over inflated. The stock market really is just it's own thing with no actual connection to reality right now. We are in correction territory, and probably will be for a while.
That said: trumps actions will still...
I can guarantee you that el-salvador was told they could keep everyone, and is going to charge a "fee" to drag him out of there. Nothing is free when dealing with capitalists and tyrants.
Okay... he's repeatedly proven he can't be trusted. At all. How many times does he need to "win" in a year to keep the tariffs off?
Some countries might be willing to negotiate now: but how many times will they negotiate with a guy who never honours his contracts before they realize he will not...
Even if trump was dragged into the street tonight, killed mob style, and the body burned, along with the absolute and unequivocal promise that the economy would be returned to the state it was on nov 5th, 2024: the US's status in the world is still DOA.
Your country cannot be trusted to not do...
And how does he pull up? He can't walk back this without looking like he made a mistake: someone else will have stop it and they'll be throwing themselves under the bus if they do. They'll become trump cult enemy number 1 for daring to defy great leader. Unless the whole lot of them find a spine...
