The thing to remember about Enterprise is that it was released post-9/11 (though much of the first season would already have been written, if not already filmed and finished). It was a contemporary of 24, Band of Brothers, and the overt transformation of Fox into a right-wing propaganda outlet...

Also note that there's a post-Loki tie-in in the final episode of What If... season 2 (which makes sense, given where the Watcher is).
