I really do miss those days. By far my favourites were the ones that started off with an official mold, but went absolutely wild with remolding and color schemes.
Maybe it's more the opposite, it's not that he was corrupted by a Dark Energon sort of substance, but rather as his own actions/thoughts become darker, they start to corrupt the energy that's inside of him, creating a visible effect. Pretty much just a cinematic effect to show that he's become...
Yeah, I think 3rd Party is a good descriptor for things like FansToys or Dr. Wu and the like. Fully original toys that infringe on IP. I had heard the term 4th Party a couple of times, and always assumed that it was meant to be a clever name for KO's of 3rd Party figures, but it would appear...
Anyone have any recommendations for a decent resin 3D printer? Something good enough to make a presentable TF head, but not a multi-thousand dollar machine? I'm an engineer by trade, so I 3D model in Solidworks all day and I've always been interested in having a printer, but never looked into...

I didn't take a picture of the alt mode, but the helmet is used to recreate the Jackhammer's assault mode turret. The helmet is removable in robot mode as well, with a sticker giving the robot head a Cliff Dagger eyepatch. It's a pretty well thought out set.
