BBTS has Nemesis back up for a March pre-order. I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered her. I had hoped she'd go the way of the Ark and get discounted. That obviously isn't going to happen so I'm going to snag her while I can.
You about summed things up for me as well. I always planned having a house with a large basement that I could convert into my own model of a Cybertron cityscape where I could have a massive diorama where I could set up battle scenes, or just display the figures in everyday life on Cybertron...
I am hopeful that some of these Selects offerings will be decent. The last few have skip-worthy for me. Then again, I need to reduce anyway so it is probably for the best.
I've only transformed him one time, but I always loved the character from the game and he's a good representation of him.
Plus... he's needed to fill a position in the Gizmo-verse! :ROFLMAO:
I preordered Tidalwave at BBTS. I too have space concerns and also own the original Armada TW. I will have to consider if I want to sell the original to help cover the cost of the new one since I never liked how small the original was. I never once did the combination with Megatron as I...
BinalTech and Alternators was one of the coolest lines for accurate, licensed vehicle modes. The transformations for most of them were a pain in the ass and their robot modes suffered for the sake of vehicle accuracy, but damn if they weren't cool. I sold all mine off several years ago, but...
My headcanon that came about after Beast Wars was that a lot of the bots damaged during the attack on Autobot City were just in stasis lock and not permanently offline.
It was, and I do love a challenge. However, for just grabbing a guy to transform for fun, RotF toys are not high on the list. I think Prime Vehicon is one of the greatest engineered Transformers of all time. The way the car panels fold up to become the legs is just a stroke of genius!
Favorite:
Prime Vehicon
Soundwave (simple is nice)
Least Favorite:
ROTF Leader Prime
ROTF Devastator (all components)
Although, it is satisfying seeing Devastator come together, but it literally takes an hour to transform the all and assemble them.
I know what you're talking about when it comes to the scale of the WFC version. You can see in this shot they're both pictured, and seeing them side-by-side really makes you appreciate how much more massive the Leaders are. You can even see the RiD remold of Grimlock standing back behind SkyLynx.
I've always viewed Cyclonus and Triggerhappy more as more of a futuristic planes than a space ships. I can see the argument for them being "Space Planes" though.
I've always been fond of Skylynx and Omega Supreme as space based vehicles. I also really like TF1 Megatron's space ship mode. TFP...
