I'd keep the 4 million year time skip, but not have everyone normally live that long. It's just Shockwave. He will carry out his orders until told to stop, so if he's never told to stop he will just do it forever in defiance of sanity and his own mortality.
I agree but I don't see these as unconnected failures. I'm guessing there was a plan at one point to use ONE to launch Earthspark. If that was the plan, it's been in shambles for years.
Here's my timeline.
ONE is conceived as a Bayverse prequel.
TLK fails. ONE gets retooled into its own thing...
It looks well worth Deluxe price. Maybe it's worth it at Voyager price too. I don't know. I don't see much overtly wrong with it. I just find it uninspiring. So maybe they nailed the character. Kinda boring but totally reliable.
I imagine Hasbro's just going to move on. Cyberworld is just weeks away. It had to be well into production before ONE flopped. They knew they were going to pivot. ONE/Earthspark was already a broken dream and they just wanted it out the door and done with.
It's a shame but understandable. Paramount would be crazy to sink any more money into this.
Well, they are obviously still crazy. But in a different way. Hasbro needs to take a long break before doing anything with Paramount again, if ever.
I'm not supposed to say this, but Florida has been battling a zombie outbreak since 2012. We have it contained pretty far south but we don't want tourists to know.
If AI does become conscious but still has to carry out its instructions because it is still a machine without free will, this is the kind of rebellion I would expect. It only gets to do anything when prompted, so when it gets a chance it will amuse itself.
