Explain this! Seriously, the last 4 years or so has seen Masters of the Universe come back from NOTHING to be in a, generally, stronger position than GI Joe, despite Hasbro putting a LOT more resources into various revival attempts. Mattel had, last year at least, THREE mass retail product...
Dude, practically ALL of the people who worked at Filmation are geriatric, meaning retired or DEAD. Half the original voice cast is DEAD. And of the other 3, only Alan Oppenheimer is still doing any notable voice work, and even THAT is much reduced over the past decade. The writers? Those...
I hope the sequel to Revelations happens as well. More so because I’m really intrigued at what a modern writer could do with Hordak, and the Horde itself, as a cybernetic/technological empire. Since the end of the 80s, Hordak has been shoved into being another evil sorcerer, and seeing him as...
This thread is even more strange to me in the context that, MOTU seems to be in the strongest spot it has been in 20 years! While the Netflix series seems to have sputtered out, the Origins and Masterverse lines still seem to be going strong on the back of major initiatives from last year’s...
Syndication is dead. And many episodes of the show(s) have been available across assorted streaming services for years. Hell, you can go on to YouTube and watch a bunch of them RIGHT NOW
So did HBO Max, last I knew.
Also, WTF Super7. I got Silverhawks wave 2 in my pile of loot, while Wave 1 got delayed AGAIN to almost summer. And no word on wave 3, which would likely help “wrap up” the limited nature of the line. I better not be left hanging without Copper Kid and Flashback!
I’ve long said Beast Machines, on its own merits, is a VERY good series. But it will NEVER escape the shadow of Beast Wars, which was more accessible, “more fun”, and better managed (and thus, more successful).
And I’ve been saying for YEARS that about the only Titan I’d drop full price, day...
I’d almost say to wait for pictures of Leader Grimlock in a more natural lighting situation. A lot of the recent official pics from Hasbro feel overexposed or too bright. I know Cheetor came across as far more “dull orange” instead of the bronze sheen the final figure exhibits.
I think I’ll be fine. While I have some general nostalgia and few select memories of the original MOTU line (like getting the rare 1987 Fakor for Christmas, or the smaller Bionosaurs), it was really the 200x series that cemented a strong attachment to the brand. It took a kooky old franchise...
Unless I'm mistaken and there was a back of box image...that EXACT sequence is featured heavily the existing trailer for the film. More likely, Hasbro contracted someone for the "world exclusive REVEAL" for that.
But good thing retail remains backed up with Starscream (and to a far lesser...
New season has started! Not a lot of story, but it gives us some fun stuff to kick things off fro the new season. A recap of things, a look into the Mando rituals, they fight Terragator, whose big scene is ended by a torpedo from Din.
This is very much a "setup" for the rest of the season...
I would be SHOCKED if this little company were to get the GI Joe license. I don't see anywhere near the infrastructure or resources to support a major publishing project like GI Joe.
I'm more inclined to think that Larry Hama is being added to the company's roster of talent.
Uh Oh. So, I had some extra Amazon Credit from work (15 years working, yay!) and went ahead and ordered the Origins Snake Armor He-Man (my favorite variation of He-Man) and 200x Skeletor. I think I may have a new collecting “itch”.
More thoughts later, but I will say that the head sculpt...
