The recent news that Takara Tomy would be releasing a full box set of the Transformers: Legacy/Legacy: Evolution Stunticons in their glorious semi-unreleased Generation 2 color schemes was met with mixed reaction.
Those who don't have the toys were excited, as these things look great! And finally, a G2 Menasor that looks like what we might have seen in the cartoon that never happened based on toys that mostly never happened was an exciting prospect.
But then there are those others who were less excited. Why? Because prior to this, Hasbro rolled out 3/5 of the team in their G2 color schemes, with no word as of yet on the rest of the team (Wild Rider and team leader Motormaster, who puts most of the menase -- er, menace -- in "Menasor") coming out to finish things off. This left collectors of the Decepticons' ground-based specialists wondering if they would have to double-dip, pick and choose what to sell on eBay (or in our "BUY*SELL*TRADE" forum), and other hazards that come when dealing with this increasingly less-affordable hobby.
Fortunately, Hasbro's Transformers Designer Mark "Markclonus" Maher came through with some encouraging words to the Hasbro faithful earlier today. Set to the tune of "Patience" by Guns N' Roses on Instagram, Mark posted this to his "Stories" (temporary posts that expire after a day):
So, G2 lovers and '90s color scheme aficionados, what do you think? Are you encouraged by these words of hope and patience? Are you still eyeing that Takara set, because you don't want to live forever -- er, wait an indeterminate amount of time? Tell us here, or over in the seriously too-long titled "Transformers: Age of the Primes Thread: ll First Post All Listings II Update : Feb 24th, Monstructor, Megazarak, More Toon G1 and Walmart Energon Lis" thread in our forums! (Because they'd probably be released there, if anywhere, right? Unless the next subline comes along first, anyway...)
