It’s the tariffs that never end, it goes on and on my friend…
A day after announcing a global 10% tariff, Trump has increased it to 15%. Which is still FAR better than rates prior to the Supreme Court’s decision.

And tommorrow he'll raise them again, and then again the day after, and then again the day after, and then again the day after...

I guess I need to learn to sew, because I am just not going to be able to afford clothes again until this is over.

The legal justification he's currently using caps out at 15%. And 150 days and then Congress has to authorize them.
This is nothing but pouting because he got told no. He is literally ******* everyone over to assuage his ego.

Its amusing you think Trump is gonna let the law tell him what he can and cant do. And by amusing, I mean sad.

The law told him his emergency tariffs were a no go, and rather than ignoring that ruling, he instead had to swap to different tariffs, so the law still has some control left

Technically the justices only interpret law and policies. There's no real mechanism in the constitution for enforcing their rulings, which are entirely dependent on current political norms that are fast going away . And judicial review itself was a later development by the Supreme Court under Marshall.

So, if oil prices stay high for a while, are we expecting an additional, unexpected wave of price increases from Hasbro a few months down the line?

FYI, some sort of network intrusion recently may slow shipping for a bit: https://dysruptionhub.com/hasbro-cyber-incident-rhode-island/

Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based toy and game company Hasbro said it detected unauthorized access to its network March 28, took some systems offline and warned temporary workarounds could delay some orders and shipments as it investigates the incident.

The company disclosed the incident in an April 1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Hasbro said it activated incident response protocols after discovering the unauthorized access, brought in third-party cybersecurity professionals and proactively took certain systems offline as a containment measure.

Hasbro did not describe the intrusion as ransomware, identify a threat actor or say customer-facing storefronts were broadly unavailable. It said the investigation is ongoing and that it is still working to determine the full scope of the impact. As of publication, no group had publicly claimed responsibility for the incident.

Hasbro said it is using business continuity plans and interim measures to continue taking orders, shipping products and running key operations. It cautioned that those measures could remain in place for several weeks and may cause some delays.

*edit* And as of right now, parts of their site are offline:

This kind of smells of ransomware. Pulse is still up though, as are a few other subdomains.

Are we allowed to discuss outside of P&R how there’s a real possibility that upcoming figures might not hit the market at all unless they’ve already been produced at factories in the far east? The global oil shortages are not just going to make Transformers stuff more expensive, potentially a lot more expensive, we might not have new figures produced to buy in the first place. I honestly think that the upcoming SS, AotP and cross-brand products we officially know about is all we’re going to get for the foreseeable. Short of a miracle.
