A certain amount of money brings security, which enables happiness. Too much money brings misery. But the rich only think about themselves. They think that since all of their money hasn't made them happy, clearly money doesn't make anyone happy.

Indeed. The greed of the super-rich can never be satiated.

FB friend:
Liberal vs Conservative problem-solving in action:

The problem: employers are exploiting low-wage workers.

Liberal solution: we should create stronger labour laws, and we need more rigorous enforcement.

Conservative solution: we should NOT create stronger labour laws because that would be socialism, and in fact, we should weaken the labour laws that already exist and fire the people responsible for enforcement. Instead, we should use capitalism to end worker exploitation, by reducing the number of workers. We can accomplish this by deporting immigrants and restricting new immigration. Once we have fewer workers, this will adjust the supply & demand equation and force employers to pay workers better through market forces.

I'm not even joking or exaggerating. This is literally and precisely how conservatives believe worker exploitation should be tackled. And they honestly can't see any problems at all with this strategy.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Because, and this is the important part, republicans are the exploiters. They are also completely incapable of basic empathy and don't care about the consequences of their actions.

No wonder they're more religious too (or pretend to be). Church is their morality car wash. Performative piety is how they convince others they're not the monsters they really are.

Motivations aside, it's probably good to not be buying real chocolate. Isn't that another one of those "edible blood diamond" crops?

So about Disney's new Frozen porn generator.....

You hear that? That's the sound of a bubble beginning to pop. And also, you know that Paramount/Warner Bros. merger? Here's some cold water.

Ironbite-get me my popcorn.

I'm hoping this may be the beginning of some real change, but I've hoped that about a lot of developments and the corporate elites somehow keep winning....
