Funny, all I heard was Oldberg's knees tapping out.

Yeah, a lot of people are mad about this as the see it as the reason Jay lost his title back to Gunther in just two months. Personally, I don't feel that Goldberg should get the blame for that.

Goldberg has been looking for a retirement match for a while now, so I imagine that this is his last run.

Also, it looks like Liv Morgan will be out for months due to shoulder surgery after a random injury in the match.

I think I heard six, but... I could see it being closer to about seven.

So Cena got his Pipebomb parody on Smackdown.



It was neat watching it, but it didn't have the soul of the original.

Why would it? CM Punk was speaking from the god damn heart with his Pipe Bomb. Cena's under orders to make fun of that for this fued.

Ironbite-it's...kinda funny in a sad sort of way.

Confirmed that this will be Goldberg's retirement match.

Why did they have to put the WHC on GUNTHER for this? The basis for this was set up a while ago and the title's not going to add ANYTHING to what is going to be a middling at best match with GUNTHER doing his damnedest to carry Goldberg bell to bell.

Unless Jey screwed up somehow/somewhere or ticked off a suit him dropping the belt is just puzzling. He doesn't have MITB. He's out of King of the Ring. Unless they're putting th original Bloodline back together to tkae down Solo and his ggons, Jey's just adrift now.

Now, if Ilja is close to coming back, then I can see why they crowned GUNTHER again. The title can add some extra juice for that feud to hype him as the only other person to convincingly dethrone GUNTHER. I also just want to see them beat 15 kinds of Hell out of each other again.

Reportedly, Jey dropping the title for this match was always the plan.

I mean, it does setup something.


No one is expecting Goldberg to win this because of the title, and its his last match. So everyone is surprised, when suddenly Spear and a Jack hammer is followed by a three count. Goldberg wins in Atlanta, huge pop, and then Rollin's music hits. Faction comes out and attacks Goldberg, and Rollins cashes in, and gets the title.

I'm expecting something a little different. Goldberg wins, retires, and then John Cena gets to cut an epic promo on how his plan is half done - Goldberg is the last "real" WWE Champion, he'll be the real World Heavyweight Champion - wrestling is ruined.

It would be fitting for Goldberg to retire with the belt too since its supposed to be the old WCW one, where as Cena's belt is the WWF one. Still, I doubt that they would let him retire with it.

It is? I never heard that. I thought this was a new world title, since the old one got unified into the WWE title.

Well, isn't it called the Heavy Weight Championship. The Undisputed Title is the WWE one, which is why Cody had to get that one, as it was the one that Dusty had taken away from him in the Garden.

With kind of a shared lineage.

Hell, there were arguments over whether the World Championship counted as the same lineage as the WCW title when they reintroduced basically the same belt design for Hunter all the way back when. I forget where that got settled, but it became moot when they unified the titles.

I feel like this one shares the name only. New look, new lineage, and I think they even said it was a new title because Roman was hogging the other one with all his time off.

FWIW, WWE's website regards the WCW title, the old WWE World Championship, and the new WWE World Championship as different lineages.

So, as expected, Cena retains. I can see where they were going with this, but it was kind of too much to work well.

Ok, so we have a decent match, Cena has the edge for most of the match, and grabs the belt to hit punk with, but actually listens to the fans and doesn't. Gets GTS for his troubles. Then more wrestling, and Punk hits the GTS, 1,2 3, except the ref was touched and out cold. Punk calls towards the back for another ref, when Rollins' music hits, and out comes the whole faction.

Cena is out of the ring, and Punk manages to hold off Braun and Reed for a little while before getting put through the Arabic announcers' desk. Rollins brings a ref in, that gets immediately impaled by Cena, who argues with Rollins, Cena and Rollins argue as they are starting to hint at turning Cena face again. Rollins gets taken out by Cena, and his faction is laid out by Sammy and Penta, and now it's just battered Punk and Cena in the ring. They do a handshake and hug, but Cena has that evil look and goes for the low blow kick, gets countered, Punk gets hit with the Briefcase by Rollins, followed up by a stomp. Cena throws Rollins out of the ring, and then pins Punk for the win.


Like, they had a good direction to go here. Having Cena turn back face would have been great, so we wouldn't have to deal with this lame heel version of him. But instead we extend that, have another Rollins screwing over Punk moment, and still didn't resolve the MITB contract.



I will admit, I enjoyed the Orton vs Cody match a lot more, even though I was rooting for Orton. Hikuleo, or whatever that guys name is, was cool showing up. Dude is huge at 6' 8"!

Also, I want to say that Cardgil looked awesome as Storm!
