Enjoying these baby dino sets. They're on an adventure! (And Barbatos is tagging along too. I'm not gonna tell him no.)

Well. A few years ago I got a bug up my butt collecting Vidiyo minifigures cause I liked the designs.

Hadn't looked at the prices in a while.

I don't think I've ever owned a minifigure worth triple digits before.

I am not sure Series 2 actually officially got released.

Just the one, sorry, I only have a couple of dupes.

It was more that I have quite a few ones from series 2. Bad wording on my part.

I saw the Series 2 Bandmates Vidiyo figs exactly one time at a Walmart. Got the Alien Dancer, and I think the Robot DJ, but didn't find the dragon or the slime man. Nice that you found some good ones!

I have the Dragon, the Slime rapper and I want to say two of the DJ assuming we're thinking of the same one.

As well as the heavy metal dragon from the larger whatever they were called sets. The one that had a buildable carrying case.

And a bunch more, honestly, that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Sorry for the terrible photo, and I MIGHT have more, some of my collection is out of sorts at the moment - but I got together the minifigures I do have.

I was not really collecting Vidiyo per se; I hunted down the figs that appealed most to me, and picked up a few more sets when they got clearanced. I have the red Dragon, but he must be stored in another bin. These are the groups that I stored together:

I like shark minifigs, so these were high on my list

Aliens and Space Lego is also my jam

And Robots and Cyborgs are also favorites.

...you really don't.

This would be one of the times that my wife's hobby of clearance shopping really paid off (did I mention my wife is awesome?): the four rocker dragons here cost less than one at retail! I found these guys in my unsorted Space minifig box, along with the D&D Paladin and Tiefling's baby dragons. I think I had vague plans to make an alien race of dragon folk? I like how changing the color of the horns can help differentiate the heads a little when they would be otherwise identical.

It is a shame Vidiyo never seemed to catch on. The wild variety of minifigs and style mashups was really fun! I do think the blindbox assortments were something of an issue (beyond the abysmal distribution of series 2, I saw a lot of series 1 boxes torn open and strewn about toy aisles even worse than CMFs!), and from what I remember the accompanying App was finicky and didn't work for a lot of people (I never tried it, I was only there for the Lego).

The range of variety was definitely bigger in Vidiyo.

Now that the molds are made, though, LEGO is using them for other things. The mermaid tail, the dragon head, and the fairy wings have made the jump.

There's some fantastic critters in Dreamzzz, for sure, but they don't have Metal Dragons, Alien Keytarists, or Punk Pirate Sharks. The big hook with the Dreamzzz sets has been alternate builds on a base model, and emphasizing creativity in building. Vidiyo builds were creative, but they were pretty invested in the whole music video hook.
