My take came after watching That Toy Guy's MP44 review recently. You could see how there were refinements going from one to the other.
The centre mass of the new Vortex doesn't have anything exciting going on, and when I configured it to a CW style arm mode for funsies, it made me wish there was a combiner block in there instead.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the frame system, either, but I'm hoping Onslaught will pull it off decently. We will see.
But, if you compare Vortexes (Vortices?), it's not even close.
I wasn't planning on getting much from AotP, but I got caught up in the "unintended world premiere" excitement, and I guess I'm getting the Combaticons now 😅
Someone made a head for the SS86 figure that's probably the best G1 Sunbow Bumblebee head I've ever seen. I think it may be cross compatible with the Earthrise mold, too...

It's kinda surprising that the limbs connect with a double post system. A single post would have at least kept bicep/knee swivels, which would have helped the articulation immensely in both standard and combined modes.
Actually, it looks like there is a seperate bicep swivel on Prime/Megs?
