Not sure when the info got posted to the Kickstarter, but it states the second volume is #47-80, TFTM #1-3, and G2 #1-12. So I suppose that fixes one potential problem for the Til All Are One combo - Goldbug will just get his UK origin since the GIJOE crossover is omitted.
Kinda trying to...
Yeah the new one looks a lot more like Optimus but just swapping the red for Decepticon purple, plus some yellow-greenish highlights. The original scheme with the magneta, bluish-grey, and black looks so much better IMO.
Parts that are grey (his rib stripes, hips/thighs) were originally black, and the blue parts (hands/lower legs) was originally more a dark slate blue, almost grey.
I suspect part of the problem is that the picture on the wiki of the original toy makes the blue look brighter (and the silver...
The head is kinda cool but the rest (at first glance at least) just looks like another MP Op.
I am more curious to see if "Style Gen" continues with other characters and what we might get from that.
Agreed, the brown is kinda a bummer. Despite being an IDW comic reader I have no real connection to the character, but the mold does look pretty awesome on its own merits. But it also looks like it would be so much more awesome with a different paint deco, so I think I'm gonna wait and hope for...
And honestly the original TM2 Dinobot toy was kinda naff so there's lots of room for improvement. Depth Charge too, to a lesser extent (that giant backpack).
On the other hand I wonder if they could live up to the original Rampage toy with today's budgets, especially the treaded tank mode.
Going back one year, one that stands out to me is that we've gotten Crosshairs (sans TM though) and Pointblank recently, but no sign of Sureshot. Granted he's not nearly as cool looking as the other two, but still feels like the set should be completed.
Agreed, we could use more Pretenders...
TF #18 was a decent ending to the arc, action heavy as you say but glad to finally get some plot moving.
Spoilers for detailed discusison just in case.
332 issues but generally each one was half as long as a US issue, right? So hopefully not that much, though I guess anything that had to go through Kickstarter rather than regular press is gonna have a bump in price too (so it's not as easy as looking at the Compendium price and saying, $65/50...
Yeah IDW sometimes colored him a very light beige, and sometimes colored him white (or maybe a shade or two greyer than white), but it's not dark grey like that toy. Even that panel is mostly him shaded just to let the light pop.
I'm perfectly happy with CW Bruticus but damn that Vortex looks amazing. If the other Combaticons look that good I'll be tempted.
And yeah that Sideways just looks like the original mold to me, just lacking some paint apps.
Disappointing colors on Ironfist Fistiron, what is up with all that...
