I do wonder if Putin'll protect him though.

Ironbite-considering he's hugged all of Putin's world domination plans up 7 ways to Sunday.

He might. Trump's still plenty useful for sowing division in the U.S. Of course, the second that stops, Donnie's getting served a Polonium Coke.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

No one will listen to his "president in exile" bullshit from russia if he doesn't even get to run in the republican primaries. Some of the charges he could potentially face do indeed carry 14th amendment exclusions. Depending on what we hear on tuesday: he could very well not even be able to run for county dog catcher.

That said, I wouldn't at all mind if he refuses to let that stop him from trying, and his supporters are too stubborn to vote for anyone else. I still mean what I said back in 2016—even if it seems like we've got an easy win on our hands, merely losing is too good for who we're up against; they deserve nothing less than to be buried in a humiliating landslide.

Ironbite-and Judge Aileen Cannon has been initally assigned the case until a more component and less Trump biased judge can be found.

Holy jive. Are all of those boxes just classified documents??? Even if they weren't, those photos look like an episode of Hoarders.

The obstruction charges alone will preclude him running again.

Or so I've heard, dunno if that's true.

I half hope that it doesn't, because if Trump and DeSantis both try to run, it'll split the Republican vote and likely block both of them. But on the other hand, I want him to hurry up and go to jail already so we can stop hearing about the latest smoking gun every few days.

Not going to happen. Even if we posited the unlikely chance that the loser of the primary decided to run in the general election as an Independent (and that would be Desantis, not Trump, let's be clear), the "conservative" vote goes to Trump, with very little splitting off going to DeSantis.

Also his lawyers quit:
The attorneys, Jim Trusty and John Rowley, did not explain in detail why they had resigned, other than to say in a joint statement that “this is a logical moment” to do so given his indictment Thursday in U.S. District Court in Miami.
I would have GTFO long before this point, but maybe that's just me.

If Trump does go to jail before the election, I'll be interested to see if any of the candidates promise to issue a pardon for him when they get elected in an attempt to get Trump's supporters to vote for them.
Each and every one of them will: because they want the cult on their side and currying favour with dear leader is how you do it. They will also, to a man; threaten the alphabet soup groups, the DOJ, and then scream about how the election was stolen when they lose.

Until both trump AND the nazis are excised from the republican party, or until they collapse and burn: this is their playbook now.

United States v Donald Trump is a bit of a confusing name since we had 4 years of Donald Trump v United States. But I guess there is a format they have to follow.

It is weird. I mean, I don't blame them. But when your rich client gets indicted for a crime is not a "logical time" to quit in any world I know.

There's a reason why they quit. Bet you anything they're gonna be called as witnesses for the government and client-attorney privilege don't count when your client WANTS YOU to do dirty crimes.

Ironbite-yeah that's a thing.
