I tried putting it back together with epoxy and did some mild surgery to see if I could modify him to remove the springs. No dice. Without the springs, the cockpit parts will just flop around and not stay in place in robot mode since there's no locking mechanism.

The second is a major shakeup via jtprime07: No more Age of Evolution, it's just Megatron Rising now; jtprime goes over the background of the line, some updates/corrections to figures that we've already seen listings for, and finally some new listings, including a new "Corrupt Auobots" capsule.

“Hey guys I have some updates for you, plus some info on previous listings. I usually don’t share information like this but I thought give you some more in depth info now.


First some clarification. This line is the start of the new sandbox hasbro has been hinting design wise. There is a mix of faithful, new, homages with design liberties. So previous listing descriptions may have been off but I can inform you all with more accurate info now that I have seen toys in hand.

Let’s get into the story. Hasbro has dropped the age of evolution name. The toyline is known as Megatron Rising. The story is in this timeline Optimus prime and the autobots defeated the decepticons and won the war. To Do this though the autobots got corrupted (shattered glass at retail) and now rule Cybertron as tyrants. There is still good autobots, and there are remnant decepticons. They are known as the resistance. They recruit Megatron’s and bots across the multiverse to fight this evil Optimus to take back their world. The Megatron’s have a combining gimmick

First we’ll go into the updates
-LDR Scorponok G3649 – sadly this is not an Energon Scorponok, the tooling is baked in though and the mould would make a great double punch as well. Imagine a homage to idw and botcon 2014 Scorponok. Accessories include two double barrel blasters.
-LDR TM Megatron G3650 – this is the one that’s going to upset people. He’s a remold of kingdom Megatron. Looks good in beast mode. Bot mode is not very accurate.
-Dlx Collapse- i mistakenly said he is a bulldozer. He is not. He is a countructicon green and purple truck with a demolition ball and crane on the back.

I've been REALLY looking forward to finally getting a TM Megatron update. This is making me extremely pessimistic now. I guess I'll just hope this is painting a poor picture of how he'll be.

Eh. I don't like this much. I'm just not a fan of "Good Guys gone bad" alternates at all (let good guys be good) nor am I into more versions of the same cuts (Mirage, Astrotrain) that we get all the time instead of characters from the 80s who have not had good modern figures.

This mostly sounds extremely skipable for me.

Exceptions:

If the Scorponok looks enough like the Marvel Comics version to stand in for that guy I'll want it.

Go-Bot Megatron might be cool depending on what it looks like. I've kinda wanted to see updated Spychangers.

But that's kiiiiinnnnda it from this list.

Do I want new characters to be made? Yes... IF IF IF they give them tech spec bios and functions Personalities and powers. I want new Characters not just new designs. If they aren't gonna bring them to life I'm not interested.

maybe takara will give them personality if they decide to use some of them in their comics

Definitely will wait and see what we get, but yeah, kinda pessimistic now hearing that TM Megs is a remold and we're getting "corrupt" Autobots. Especially if they're just SG decoes, as while there's been some good ones (like Optimus) that line typically is much more miss than hit for me.

Really curious to see Go-Bot Megatron though.

I don't expect it from current Hasbro I just don't care about the new toys without it.

I'll take it from takara or a video game or anything, but characters are why I care about Transformers more than any other robot toys out there. If they aren't characters, I dont need their toys.

-ZacWilliam, there's a reason I love the 88-90 Post Cartoon guys just as much as the 84 to 86 ones and it's because the on package bios and Marvel comics brought them to life.

Very disappointing to hear that Transmetal Megatron is just a Kingdom retool. He and Machine Wars Starscream were the 2 figures I was looking forward to the most. More money saved, I guess...

I'm not feeling wild(docking) about that TM Megs info, but I suppose I'll give it the old wait-n-see. However, I don't think any deco changes will ever get me to buy that SS86 Astrotrain mold. Curious about Mirage and Leader Scorponok, though.
