Great suggestions!

I just ordered a couple of PS5 games on sale on Walmart.com. I got Lego SW: The Skywalker Saga and GOW: Ragnarök for $52 shipped! The Lego SW game was on sale for $10 and I needed another game to get the free shipping, so I picked this one up from your suggestions.

If you're looking for games for the PS5...

Baldur's Gate 3

Rachet and Clank Rift Apart

Stellar Blade (though that will be getting a Switch 2 release)

Pragmata (Thought that will also be getting a Switch 2 release)

Nier Automata

Cyberpunk 2077 (though That also has a Switch 2 release)

Mass Effect Legendary Edition (technically PS4, but also playable on PS5)

SpiderMan 1, maybe Miles Morales. But Spider Man 2 was just kinda okay, more of the same

Oh, I guess Forza Horizon 6 counts now, too, if you don't have an Xbox or PC that can run it...

So we finally got a chance to play some PS5 last night. My middle child finished her homework and I let her play some Minecraft on it. They haven't played much Minecraft other than the Switch 1 version. That is the one that they have racked up hundreds of hours with, so this version she was geeking out at all the different stuff. Shadows, draw distance, and just the quality of it all were so much better than what we have been used to.

Also, I want to note that I was able to download this for free since I bought it on the PS4 a literal decade ago, I was able to get the DLC that I bought for it, and get the free upgrade to the PS5 version. Pretty sweet. It also shows a lot of other digital PS4 games that I had got back in the day. I need to see if I can download them or not.

Also, I need to get another PS5 controller as the kids need to play Minecraft together on the PS5 and my youngest was super bummed that she couldn't play with her sister. Going to hit up Game exchange during lunch to see if they have any, because $80 for a second controller at walmart seems way too much to me.

Saw that myself when I got my PS5 is all my old PSP/PSOne Classics I had purchased on my PSP/Vita were still logged in the system. So long as it was the original version, I had access to older titles. Didn’t help me on games like FF7 or Legends of Mana or Symphony of the Night where “newer” iterations/remasters were made. Still had a bunch of gems like Herc’s Adventure, Syphon Filter, and more recently, Dino Crisis and RE2.
Plus, if you were part of PlayStation Plus when they were doing the free game thing, those are still logged into your account, so if you restarted PS Plus you’d have access to those titles as well.

PS4 and PS5 are basically on a shared eco-system, so there shouldn’t be any issue with account titles short the PS Plus issues I mentioned above. PSP/PSOne are license bound, the companies have to “authorize” any titles for use with PS4/5, and that’s a crap shoot. Again, I got a LOT of PSP/PSOne titles that I can’t access because Square or Activision or Sony haven’t bothered to reauthorize them (like the numerous WipeOut titles)

Well, I tried to get a used one in good condition from Gamestop for $60, but a couple came in and was trying to turn in 50 plus damaged PS2 games that they were going through. I didn't want to wait the half hour for it, so I left. I went the next day to the local retro gaming store, where I got a red one for $45. Very happy with it and the wife loves the color is more mauve than red. She has already claimed it as hers. We also picked up the PS5 game Subnautica Zero Below as my oldest really wanted it, but I still had my reservations on it due to getting nauseous playing Subnautica on my brother's PC and VR headset. We got it though and she loves playing it.

I do have a bunch of PS Plus games on there from the PS4 era. I might have to see about getting PS Plus again.

Ordered Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, and 7 off of Amazon today, as they had them new for $13 a piece. I have been wanting to try out these remakes for a while now, and I have never played 2 or 7 before. Should be fun!

Well, I picked up Dragon Age: The Veilguard from walmart brand new for $10 yesterday to join my PS5 collection. I played the first two games in this series, so I thought I might try this one out.

It Takes Two and Split Fiction are both really fun/inventive 2 player co-op games you can play. Both available on PS5 and recently on Switch 2.

So I picked up the two Final Fantasy remake games for the PS5 today. Amazon had them on sale for $19 and $13, so I jumped on that. I forgot to mention last week I picked up a nice Sony brand controller charging station for the PS5 controllers. It looks good with all the white electronics we have. Definitely digging the look.

I went to Gamestop yesterday, as they are right next to a store my wife sent me to, and they were having another 4 for $10 and 4 for $20 sale. I picked up mostly PS4 and PS5 games, but I did get Evil Within for Xbox One, as well as Kobra Kai 2 and NBA 2022 both for the Switch. I got a couple of Call of Duty games for the PS4 that I missed out on after I stopped playing it every year, so I can go back and play the single player campaigns. I picked up the Death stranding game as I thought the wife might enjoy it. For the PS5, I got Saints Row, Just Dance 2022, and College Football 2025.

I am starting to get quite the little budget friendly PS5 collection. Its been about a month since I got my PS5 and this is my collection right now.

I think I have about $200 into all of that. There are still a few more titles that I want to get, but I am going to wait until Black Friday to see if any of them go on sale.

Not pictured are the two FF7 remakes.

So I managed to play some Rift Apart this weekend. Got through the intro section and the first world. I enjoyed it, but a lot of the platforming is annoying when you have to jump on to a certain thing to get high enough to jump to the next, and Ratchet just jump right off the other side.

I didn't like that the game took 45 minutes to install.

It's the only Rachet and Clank I played for more than just a day...let alone to completion. Probably helped that Rivet is voiced by Commander Shepard.

In my numerous Trilogy play throughs, Fem Shep gets the vast majority of play time. I think I may have done Maleshep three times...each time a Talimance.
