I don't know if it's the studio lighting or what, but they just look phenomenal here. Now give me...I don't know, Seige Soundwave with Brunt in red, Seige Shockwave with Fasttrack in orange, & Seige Ironhide with cog in green? Could be an excuse to get Seige Ultra Magnus in his "classic" clear yellow look again....who would best pair with him though?
I get the feeling that any further releases in this capsule would be the same blue and purple as these figures, with Hasbro following the logic of "blue = good/normal/Primus-based Energon" and "purple = Dark Energon".

Forgive my ignorance on this, as I haven't been keeping up with Shockwaves lately, but does anyone know which Shockwave this is?

Breakaway might be a nice placeholder for a
combiner Thundercracker...
if he were one of the arm jets, sigh.

You're probably right, but I crave a full spectrum of these so I can make my own robot gummi worms.

I think the "Tron-Formers" are the right way to do exclusives. They're significantly different to elicit interest and also not a core part of any collection too (so it's no loss to fans who can't get them). They're just like many of the Japanese exclusive, which are usually clear, metallic or 'special' versions of toys too (such as the recent GITD Leo Convoy). I hope they do a version of TF1 Elita 1 for the lulz.

As for Nexus, I'm looking forward to getting this container team as I'm sticking with my Unite Warriors (plus upgrade kit) versions for the main characters. However, recoloured versions as new characters would be interesting, just like Nexus. A boxed set with only the missing parts (plus some extra goodies) might be fine too.

However, if they do a partial release and then re-release the same molds and essential parts for it as a boxed set, I will simply not bother with buying any more AOTP combiners (as new characters) unless they're in boxed sets.
