That would be good. I‘ve never read No Man’s Land in full, but I remember what I did.

With this being higher rated, I wonder how vicious the villains a going to be allowed to get.

A couple of Elseworlds stories I’d love to see are the vampire trilogy and (admittedly this is a stretch) Batman Digital Justice.

Hmm, was the Knightfall/Quest/Send trilogy the one where Joker killed Mr. Freeze? Or was it before that?

If so, I wonder if they'd change that here...

They actually killed Mr Freeze at one point?

Honestly, i’ve never actually read Knightfall. I listened the audio drama done for BBC Radio 1. That’s how I know both Knightfall and Superman Doomsday.

I actually read both events as novels!

Knightfall was written by Dennis O’Neal himself, and I think worked well as an adaption. It omits Prodigal (where Dick Grayson becomes Batman the first time), but I that works to end the story on a ”cleaner note”. It also minimizes or clears out a LOT of the secondary “impact” material that pops up in the graphic novel collections.

Death and Life of Superman was written by Roger Stern (noted for his Spider-Man run), and I think streamlined the event to great effect. It didn’t drastically change the plot, but it sure cleaned out a BUNCH of the clunky B-plots running through the book at the time.

By and large, I enjoyed the novel adaptions better than the graphic novel originals.

I wonder if those novelisations served as the basis for the radio dramas, since they too trim the filler and streamline the stories.

Thinking of Prodigal, I wonder if this trilogy will omit that too.

LBD. I guess comic death and rebirth has happened to absolutely everybody at least once.

Matt Reeves dropped a "Camera Test" teaser for The Batman Part 2. Not much, but shows the film is still moving forward. And it also looks like, to me, they tweaked the bat "ears" on the cowl, they look a bit thicker with better definition. It also reveals the new release date of February 18, 2028

Wow, that is a huge gap between films.

Minor updates, The Batman Part II is on the docket for February 18, 2028. The odd placement makes me think WB might actually let them push this film into an R-rating.

Next, more images from set are out, revealing more changes to the film’s batsuit. In addition to the change to the ears, the suit seems to be more streamlined and custom, with photos revealing a YELLOW utility belt.
Not posting images for potential spoilers that might also crop up.

Question is, is anybody going to care by the time this actually hits the theaters?

That’s a good question. Certain elements sound intriguing, but 2028 is a long way off.

I guess whenever the first trailer comes out, we’ll get a hint of how many people still want this. I mean, I hope it’s gonna be good.

It's Batman. You are out side your minds if you think no one will care by time they actually show a trailer.

Fair point. Batman has never not gotten butts in seats.
Even Mask of the Phantasm? As great as it is, WB barely marketed that one. Even Siskel & Ebert missed out on that one in theaters and watching movies in theaters was their job.

Agreed on both counts. Western Animation has always been considered by the suits to be ‘kids stuff’ and secondary.

Phantasm should definitely rank as one of the best Batman films.

Indeed. Great stories can be great. But there will likely always be that divide for some between great films… and animated films that are great and far smarter than they are given credit for. But are still ‘cartoons’.

It also had to compete with The Lion King.
