This is it! The end of the road!
Okay, that might seem inaccurate for episode 36, "For the Win III: For Cyberworld," given there's a second season coming, but trust me, it's not really any worse than YouTube's title, "Bumblebee VERSUS Optimus Prime".
As for the description, here's what they have to say:
The final battle begins, with Optimus and Bumblebee on opposite sides.
As Galvatron's threat grows, the Autobots are pushed to their breaking point. With Cyberworld hanging in the balance, one last confrontation could decide the fate of the entire team
Optimus Prime has fallen into danger, and Galvatron isn't slowing down. As the Autobots race to save their leader, they'll need a new plan to stop Galvatron before it's too late. Can they pull off the impossible?
Anyway, here's the episode:
And here is my spoiler-filled recap and review!
Galvatron is still glowy, and he easily swats Mirage out of the air with some junk. Get used to that, though I think this is the last we see of Mirage for now.
Optimus starts giving commands, but Bumblebee isn't having it, and rushes in shooting while shouting "Just blast him already!" Elita seems content to follow Bee's order, and Optimus just joins in with his Gatling gun.
Galvatron is not impressed, and is about to show the world what he can do, but Grimlock runs in to take his turn at slaying the dragon, only to get Miraged -- and one-handedly, at that.
Also, yes, "Mirage" is a verb now. At least for this recap. Get used to it. Should it be "Bumblebeed"? Yeah, probably, after last time, but I like this better (even if Bee deserves it more).
Galvatron thinks Grimlock was foolish enough to attack him alone, and Big Grim lets spill that he's not alone. Hey, it's Snarl!
Snarl gets Miraged. Well, kinda. He's about to get vamp'd by Galvatron's little palm-pire when he lets go of his sword, transforms, and runs off.
That just opens up the opportunity for Grimlock to Fastball Special Elita at Galvatron.
You can guess where this is going.
After she gets Miraged, Wheeljack comes riding his drone in to the rescue, and goes for a flying punch of his own.
Miraged? Not my boy.
He knew this would happen, and so disengages that makeshift arm he's been sporting all season to leave Big G holding the bag, and it blows up right in his face -- literally.
Jackie thinks it's time to cut their losses, and Prime agrees. He orders the retreat, which only applies to Bee, Elita, and One-Armed Jack, as he, Grimlock, and Snarl are going to cover them.
Bumblebee gets all indignant, but Prime doesn't stick around to hear it. Good on him!
Elita tries to get Bee with the program, but he says Prime doesn't get to keep making calls like this.
But before he can continue, a black hole opens up. Sure, why not?
Well, not a black hole, but a "program". I repeat: Sure, why not?
Something go 'splodey, it throws Bee, Elita, and Wheeljack further away, and Galvatron? Oh, he doesn't like this. He's trying to resist being pulled in as best as he can in the air, while Prime, Grimlock, and Snarl have dug in on the ground to keep out.
Bumblebee comes to, saying Optimus's name (Shippers, start your fanfics!), then spots the damaged core from last time.
Meanwhile, as Galvatron swears they'll never take him, Grimlock convinces his comrades to go once more into the breach, and with a battle cry of "For Cyberworld!" (You don't even know what the deal is with this place, but sure, why not?), decide to go after Galvatron again, who swears he "won't go back!" Interesting.
He transforms, and the shockwave (no, he's not involved... yet) sends Big Grim, Smaller Snarl, and Little Prime flying away from the program. Grimlock says now would be a good time for a plan, and as it would so happen -- despite Bumblebee's protestations that no, he doesn't get to be the hero as he breaks open the core of the boost thing -- he has one.
No, I did not edit or alter this image in any way.
Drink it in, man.
I'm not sure how long that meme has been around, but I think this officially makes Transformers: Cyberworld the best Transformers media of all time. Sorry, IDW. Beast Wars, you had a good run. Animated, it was good to know you. R.I.P., my beloved Rescue Bots.
Anyway, Prime takes on his first form, and after Galvatron's been Miraging fools left and right for the first part of the episode, Optimus is about to Touch Galvatron but good and Thrust him real harrrrrrrrokay I see how bad this sounds the more I write of it. Moving on.
He doesn't get the chance, though, because I think we have a new meme, hot on the heels of the peak of the old! Who's up for "Bumblebee Ruins Everything"?
Because that's what he does, snatching Prime out of his dramatic and musically-backed truck dive through the air.
Oh, yeah -- did you think we were out of toys to sell? Did you think that new glowy Bumblebee was going to be horrifically out of scale?
Wrong on both counts!
Giant glowing Bumblebee rope-a-dopes Galvatron but good. Yeah, he may have killed the moment a second ago, but you gotta hand it to him: Boy got the job done.
As Galvatron gets sucked into the program, Bumblebee fizzles a bit and shrinks down to normal size again, and almost goes with him before Wheeljack snags him, and everyone pulls him clear to safety. Prime goes to check on him, and Bee reminds us that no, he still sucks now as he swats away Prime's arm.
There's an explosion, a shockwave (still no, not him), and... uh, it goes out across Cyberworld. And presumably does something.
Prime says "That power... Bee, what have you done?" as he watches Bumblebee walk down the opposite side of a sandy hill to rejoin Elita and Wheeljack. As they start to walk away, Elita asks about Prime and suggests that maybe they should... well, something. Bee doesn't care what, because "we don't need him anymore," he says as his eyes crackle with purple energy.
Prime looks sad, and Grimlock pats him on the back... but then, four fiery objects enter the atmosphere! Wheeljack says "they're falling," but when Elita tries to reassure him they're okay, he says "They're coming..."
And then the camera rushes off into the forest where -- presumably -- one of the objects has crashed and is surrrounded by what looks like pink energon crystals? Wild.
Oh, and there's a Maximal symbol on it. I guess that's pretty neat, too.
Cut to credits, and seeya next season!
So, as a finale, this wasn't bad, but I think the three parts would be stronger shown together -- and I don't mean in the reverse order they actually did again here. Seriously, who came up with this?
Galvatron is gone, but for how long? We don't know, but going by his words, one has to feel there's *coughs* more than meets the eye to this program thing.
I guess in a way, we did get "Bumblebee versus Optimus," and I have to say that I applaud this direction they're taking with Bumblebee. If anything is ever going to get people off of Hot Rod's ass about getting Prime killed, Bee being the most petulant, annoying little so-and-so is probably going to be it. Maybe then people will be more welcoming to Hot Rod if he ever shows up in this whole thing.
Incidentally, I'm kinda surprised he didn't say "This is the end of the road, Galvatron!" before turning the dragon into his own personal Punch-Out!! simulator. And for those keeping score, that was half the reference for my title here. The other was title for the end of the original Marvel comics run in issue #80, which as we all know by now, was not the end in at least three different directions. So, it felt fitting enough.
With that, see you next season! Which will start... next month.
See you next month!

But what did you think? Catch anything I didn't? Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "Bumblebee is a little bitch and Optimus is lead around by his balls" (oh, my...) thread in our forums!
