Long-standing gripe reared its head today. I did my time in retail, I understand controlled inventory and anti-theft measures. But, dear $major_store_chains, this is not that. This is annoying, and condescending, and wasteful of your employee's time when they're made to get a thing from a case for me, walk me up to the registers like a lost six-year-old, and not let me touch the thing I'm buying until I've paid for it. How much shrink has that actually reduced, compared to the bonus the exec who came up with it gave themselves?
