Fair enough, thanks. If I'm in the area I'll see if I can get a good look. Or just ask. Skeevy is inevitable with this line, and it's likely to price me right out by default anyway.

Wish I could find me a boxed normal-sized Autorooper. A local toy shop had one awhile back but I think they sold it since they then. But in my case, my interest isn't solely in the figure but in the inside of the box's packaging, as it is lined with paragraph upon paragraph of JG1 information. I do have digital photograph files of this info given to me by an acquaintance online, but it would be nice to have direct access to the source text material since the photos are not the clearest they could be.

So.... you're "only interested in the articles".

This is also a case of "They look good on a screen, but you just want to hold them in your hands."

I still want confirmation as to some of the TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON exclusives came with trading card-sized tech-specs. Specifically:

SAM's Prowl and Starscream,
COSTCO's Armada Superbase Optimus and Overload, and
TOYS R US's Powerlinx Optimus Prime and Megatron

K*B's Cyclonus and Demoilshor and KMART'S Prowl and Checkpoint did so I'm not ready to write off the above yet. I don't want to buy sealed samples to confirm, but I may have to. Especially if cards are included.

Rather than say what I usually say in response to this, I find myself instead compelled to fufill a hint I left last time those Players came up.

So.... a little bit about Hitoshizuku Amaō. (As an aside, one of my handful of accomplishments on TFWiki was fixing the Go!-box leading to her article. For whatever reason, the link was dead owing to grammatical markings.)

Anyway, without going into details (because some things one can't un-learn), she was the head of Japan's branch of the EDC, she was up to some very skeevy business involving the use of Galvatron's CNA to create the Autoroopers (hmmm, that does sound familiar....), and while she didn't consciously make a bargain with Unicron, she seems to have thought that somehow whatever process was creating the Legion [NOT linking] out of random Earth machinery could resurrect her deceased daughter. It's.... not making a lot of sense, but what does when one is grieving?

So, last time I mentioned this character, I said that surprisingly, I was feeling more sympathetic to her (despite her squick-inducing shenanigans), because of .... a K-drama? What?

So.... Parasyte: the Grey had an alien-fighting squad leader named Jung-kyung Choi. She doesn't do the premodern costume thing, and is pretty much all business, but has a few affectations that make people wonder just how stable she is... though there is no denying her results:

We later see in a flashback that she lost her husband (and her right ear cartilage) on the Night The Aliens Arrived.

Maybe it's just how my brain is wired, but I'm going to take a cognitohazardous stand and assert that Ms. Amaō could in fact be salvaged as a character concept. And who knows? Maybe that merging-of-flesh-and-metal idea was put into her head by Scorponok.... Not the first time one of him has engaged in such weirdness....
