unluckiness

Somehow still sane

Given how Primal transforms, all brick Primal needed for a beast mode were slightly deeper knee bends and a gorilla head.

At the time, John Warden tried to justify the slab as being Optimus Primal's pre-beast Cybertronian altmode, but that still made it no less underwhelming and unimpressive as an altmode.

He looks pretty good for the most part, thou I can't help but wonder if the chest is mistransformed as it seems to have a nose cone pointing downwards

I hope we get a video review soon

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Are the minicons seperate or packed in? Cause... I love me some minicons: but I am not buying a space shuttle to get some.

Slab or not, Optimal Optimus still has to be Optimal Optimus and so you're never going to get anything good out of that.

Jetfire and the Minicons all look to have put on some weight during their retirement. And what happened to the front of the rocket...?

Maybe they had someone draw spacecraft from memory.

From what I know, they are packed in with Jetfire, besides he not just a Space Shuttle, he is a pair of pants/legs for Amarda OP to wear, his shield pretty much confirms that because it got a nice little hole prefect for the Autobot symbol from the Amarda legacy OP figure! Also, Hasbro haven't released any Minicons seperate, in fact they pretty much abandoned releasing the smallest scale TFs completely and the smallest scale releases at the moment is Deluxe class

Hopefully the Requiem Blaster holds together better than the original.

It looks to me like they sacrificed good individual alt-modes for the sake of a better combined gun. Which is fair, I guess, as the originals did the opposite.

I wonder if Skyblast waves his tiny arms around frantically while screaming, Invader Zim's 'GIR' style.

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. Skyblast's hollow barrel, AstroScope's hollow barrel, it's all just an obvious Kiss Players Manga homage. I was way off.

I'll probably grab Armada Jetfire, but it does make it a bit harder to pull the trigger with him at Commander prices.

I'll be honest. This looks rough. But I'm confident there's reasons for it. Considering how widely people complained about the Requiem Blaster falling apart, veering in the opposite direction is a reasonable choice. And I'm betting Jetfire's proportions are optimized for pants mode. If so, that's definitely the right choice. That combo is awesome, and I don't care what they had to do to pull it off with working legs. It's an achievement.

Well, on a serious note, my original Requiem Blaster did have some serious issues with stability, mostly the slotted connections between AstroScope and Skyblast, that I blamed on a mix of loose friction joints holding most of Astroscope together combined with thin plastic for the missile to slot through, reducing rigidity even further. I think the stockiness for the minicons may be an attempt to offset that. I never had Jetfire, I did see a friend's. I don't think his pants mode had knees, did it? This may be a case where the stockiness for him is due to trying to work in more joints for the various modes, like how they did it with Prime's new non-electronic trailer.

The bright side of this is that it greatly increases the odds that Overload will come with his minicon. I don't understand why they left out Jetfire's original one here, though. He made a great 'scope' on top of the blaster originally.

The hips remind me of Classics Jetfire, which is kind of hilarious.

Looks like Skyblast's rocket tip is a hard point, probably for more solidly connecting to Astroscope.

Moving more in the buying direction, but I want to see pants mode first. Suppose I could preorder and cancel later if I decide I don't like it enough. Then again, my only planned TF purchases for the rest of the year are Monstructor and the rest of the Combaticon, so maybe.

If I financially survive my latest city issues I am buying Jetfire and the Prime reissue, even if Jetfire's pants mode hasn't been revealed by then. I trust that they gave it the treatment it deserves.
