I liked that small time period in Reveal the Shield/Gold Box where they had to avoid blowing what faction each character was, so we got unique monickers like Special Ops Jazz, Turbo Tracks etc. instead of the boring Autobot Whoever.

They should have put the wrong rubsigns on some of those figures, just to mess with snarky fans who were all like "gee I wonder what faction Jazz is?"

And make the completionists chase after the "rare factory error variants" of Decepticon Autobots and Autobot Decepticons.

With the right premise, it might actually be kinda cool to have a line like that, where this character or that could go either way until you rub the sticker.

And maybe even have versions on either side, so there's an Autobot Woopenheimer and a Decepticon Woopenheimer, or whatever.

I'm rereading the Marvel series and I'm wondering why Boltax and Xaron weren't considered to be part of the Thirteen Primes.
Likely because when Furman first came up with the group as a concept, the Thirteen Original Transformers were supposed to be so old and primordial that not only were they all long gone by the present day but their mere existence was the stuff of myth and legend by the present.

That, and the fact that when Aaron Archer was working on the definitive roster of the group after much had been changed from Furman's original version of the concept, Archer didn't think to research any characters from the Marvel Comics beyond those that Furman had already inducted into the group in his original version of it.

If only they'd just hired Furman to revise and expand The Ultimate Guide. With a request that he not include any explanation whatsoever of female Autobots.

It couldn't have been worse than the Binder of Revelation, and probably wouldn't have cost as much.

TF One was supposed to be The Thirteen’s debut to the general public. No guidebooks, no one-off appearances by individual members, no napkin.

They were taken out like chumps in a matter of minutes.

Cue Curb Your Enthusiasm theme.

That happened. There was a 2007 edition of The Ultimate Guide with extra content pertaining to IDW's early works (Infiltration, Stormbringer, Escalation, Spotlight, BW The Gathering, and Hearts of Steel), Alternators, and Classics. ;)

I have a digital copy of it.

I rather like that Boltax and Xaaron weren't in the Thirteen. We should have more standalone characters from various time periods playing various roles, and not everyone has to get dragged into that. The history and lore are more alive when it isn't all reduced down to coming from the same handful of bots.
