Guess I should have looked more into the details of how it passed. Had a bit of a knee jerk reaction given that this bill specifically targets people like me. Once again I'm glad I live in a state that protects trans people and just lets us self-select whatever gender marker we want when we renew our license.
Yeah that's not how things work. Just because Trump ignores the law doesn't mean everyone does.
More to the point, the AG here is Kris (my initials are KKK for a reason) Kobach and he's backing the push hard because he loves these kind of culture war things. Takes away from all the times he keeps getting smacked down by judges for being a really shitty lawyer.

Something to note here is the law itself apparently violates a clause in the Kansas constitution that requires each statute to only focus on a single subject(something that Federal lawmaking could use IMO) so that alone may get it struck down.
