KO Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Optimus has samples lifted straight from the live action films.

So, this weekend, I discovered Mystery Ballerz Mech Botz. These are "blind" packed transforming robots in a gashapon-style ball. There is a code on each ball which seems to indicate the style of figure, so I'm not sure how blind these truly are. I found mine at Hobby Lobby for around $6.50 USD.

Once they're unwrapped, you have a ball which can double as a bank, 2 plastic 'coin' tokens, a product guide, and the figure. These are simple transforming figures made of plastic and die cast (!), with a variety of altmodes, including trucks, construction vehicles, military vehicles, and various beasts and dinos. These are roughly Core/Gobot scale, and while the quality does not feel up to Hasbro standards, it's better than some dollar store figures I've bought over the years.

I say I discovered these this weekend, but I actually found the Pteranodon, Raptor, and Triceratops at a thrift store a few months back, but had no idea what they were until now.

A lot of the head sculpts seem strangely familiar. Pretty sure the electric t-rex is based on Optimus Prime, while a couple other take cues from Grimlock:

Oddly, the wrapping says "Series 2", but the product guide says "Series 1". One side seems to indicate 12 different figures, but the other side has many more styles and colors. There is also indication in the instructions that some of these figures can combine.

So, here are the codes I found:
3007 White/electric blue T-Rex
5138 Blue/Grey Wolf
5159 Red Truck
5169 Yellow/Blue Dozer
5517 Grey F22 Jet
I'll add more if I find them.

One thing I ran across the other day was that Amazon is lousy with weird Micromaster KO's. The example I saw was school Valentine's packs for kids, but prepacked Easter eggs seems to be an equally popular place for them. Lot of KO's of actual Transformers Micromasters, but also a ton of "original" molds mostly based off of stolen Hot Wheels designs.

Prices usually aren't too bad, either. I'm tempted to buy a pack and try them out.

I'm sure I've seen the metallic dinosaur/animal ones. They might be part of a combined set?

Quite possible. When I found the dinos in the thrift store, I tried to find out what they were and came up with a couple strange off-brand sets with russian-sounding names. I'm pretty sure these were sold somewhere in the world previously and are just being sold in the USA in a different package. The ones you linked to are likely from the same source.

The ones KOed from the Darth Vader and R2D2 cars look awesome! I hadn't seen anything like this in a while!

I've got the Stormtrooper 'micromaster' figs from Sirtoys. He used to give them away for free with most orders.

Which one was that? I got a couple things from Sirtoys back in the day, but I don't remember any Stormtroopers.

TJOmega got an Advent Calendar with alot of these guys. So he has some mini reviews of them in his "Toycember" videos.

I think they're based upon a Disney character car.

Huh! Yeah, I never got one of those. I like how whoever was designing these things made sure to make the robot designs called back to the character the car was made to look like. As long as you're stealing intellectual property, you may as well go whole-hog!
