I got very lucky and found a Unicron head on my first try. Wondering if I should chance it with planet mode once my local toy shop gets that series in, or just bite the bullet and go to ebay.

Just opened up my first few Defender kits (from series 5). How'd it go? Well, I went to the Blokees website and ordered the set of all of series 1-3 plus the Devastator kibble.
Well, they arrived. I'm not really surprised that the three sets were still in their individual cardboard shipping crates, that sort of thing happens all the time when you buy an entire "wave" of something. I was surprised that the Devastator kibble also had its own tiny individual shipping crate. But what was really surprising was that I found this out before I opened anything, because instead of putting all this in a single large box as I would expect most people to do, whoever is in Blokees's mail room decided the best solution was to tape all four crates together with a generous amount of packaging tape and put a shipping label on the resulting tower.

To be clear, this isn't a problem or anything. This solution worked. It's just that it was also hilarious so I decided I had to share.

Something that didn't quite dawn on me when I was ordering is just how many of these early figures are the kind of stuff that would normally be late-wave redecos or store/event exclusives, with the "normal" versions coming later (and there still isn't a regular solid red Ironhide for instance). Regular Sideswipe is a redeco of SG Sideswipe in this line. That's wild.

So for payday and because i needed a treat, I bought a blind box of the latest Blokees Shining, the Spark of Deception.
I got IDW Prime! He's been released as a Galaxy class before, but the shining has the newer parts! He looks really good and was what I was hoping for from the box.

Defender Vehicle Jetfire has a whole lot of mystery connectors and hinges and stuff that don't seem to be used for anything. A couple of different "combine with the robot for gerwalk mode" builds have been figured out, and yet it looks like the sorta-legs on the vehicle should be able to do something too, what with the rotatable toes.

Here's my gerwalk (I pulled SG Jetfire), the other main one ditches the forearms and puts the upper arms backwards into the sockets on the sides of the jet.

Not Transformers, but the precool Blokees are also very awesome. I love Oscar the Grouch. He is going to be on my desk at work when I go back.

In addition to finding him, I picked up the Count and 4 boxes of Brutal Fang. Got the chase Megatron, beast mode Megs, Specter General, and Astrotrain.
Also found a case of Defender wave 9. First box is the Unicron!!!

There have been so many different Blokees released, and different sizes and classes and whatnot, and I have not been able to keep track of a single lick of it.

Can someone break down the categories for me, please?

I checked the official website, and while it lists everything, I'm not so sure it does a fine job of distinguishing a Defender from an Action from a Galaxy, and whatever else they have.

All I know is the Defender is the smallest, chibi style subline, about 2 inches. Galaxy is the "standard" size (I have this impression because I think this is the size that has the most waves so far) of 4 or 5 inch ones, some of those light up. And everything else is big big big.

Defenders are the small, chibi figures, as others have said. They average around 2 inches tall. They're all ball joints that snap together. Very poseable and cute.
Galaxy are the next class up. The "standard" figures are around 4 to 4 and a half inches tall. They have ball joints but they also use special joint parts. They've undergone the most changes through the line with wave one being the most simplistic and mostly ball joints to wave 9 where they have greater waist articulation, thigh swivels, and in general have more detail.
In addition, galaxy has "shining"versions which have built in light features.
Champions vary greatly on size, but they're still going to be under 5 or 6 inches. These come on sprues and are more intricate builds, with greater details. Articulation usually is about the same as Galaxy, but they have light up features, come with stands, additional hands and weaponry.
Action editions are much larger. They are far more complicated builds, come with a lot of accessories, light up features that are controlled by magnets, and bases.
