Got this set in today. These are all old molds so there aren't really any surprises here. Just the new decos. Since Kremzeek didn't show up in MTMTE, they decided to make up some horror film poster-esque boxart rather than recreate the "Let's see what you can see" scene the cast is going for. It's good but Thundercracker's highly detailed lips look kind of weird.

Thundercracker's pretty cool. The color is a nice sky blue that I really like, though depending on the source, it may not be as bright as he appeared in some scenes. The chest, air intakes and face are all done in a semi-gloss gray. Would have preferred silver but that's how cartoon accurate is I guess. As you can see, they decided to go with the neutral face for this release. Everything's nice and tight and no real complaints here.

This is my first experience with the Reflector mold. It's alright aside from the super long arms that as far as I can tell don't really have a reason to be so long. As expected of toys that don't really need to transform much, plenty of articulation in robot mode. Space gun modes are what they are. Kinda wish they stuck a peg on the bottom to use them as weapons. Camera mode is shown above in both the stock Siege configuration and with the add-on camera parts. First time they're released in cartoon colors as far as I know. The flash makes for a goofy weapon but the camera side/shutter button assembly is kind of unwieldy. This release uses a nice emerald green clear plastic for the chests which I find a huge improvement over the colorless clear with green painted on the inside that Siege did. The blurple is a very nice shade and looks close to the animation colors to me. Joints are all good except for the waist rotation and hips being much tighter than they need to be for toys this small. It really is a shame that the small Reflector accessory didn't come with this kit, making it impossible to recreate the boxart.

Kremzeek is a small gummy dude, but notably less soft than other clear plastic parts we've gotten recently. He's still rubbery and flexible, just a lot less squishy to the touch. He has the Siege blast wart ports on his feet if you really want to make him stand on other robots securely I guess. I don't know why that last shot in the control room is so blue.

Great pics!

I also went and got this set, despite myself. Lots of waffling, but the Refraktor trio looked so dang good (despite the Siege set already looking nice) in more saturated colors that it won me over. The greebling does stand out more and kind of undermines that look, but the pleasantly rich colors are overall quite nice.

In addition to that, Thundercracker is about as close as I've seen to that mythical sky blue that kid me gaslit himself into seeing on the show, lol. So it's a win all around.

It's such a surprisingly solid set, only held back by the way the tiny camera-mode Refraktor is in the other set, that I now kind of want to get the other set just for Skywarp. As tends to happen with Skywarp, Takara may go with a bluer violet than Hasbro's redder (I think the initial pictures gave this impression), and despite me wanting to keep the Earthrise Skywarp I may go for it.

The Insecticons I'm currently more likely to pass on (Bombshell is the main different-looking one, and for that I'd rather get the TAV one), but I may be surprised again. Already I'm noticing the cooler violet looks so much better. Maybe if the Kickback (otherwise a very lateral move) uses opaque plastic for the wings...

I'm already in for the Insecticons and Skywarp set myself, if only because it's very likely they'll use the same pretty purple on MP-52 Skywarp on it. I'd also decided by that point that I'm not going to start on the new Seeker mold. I already have the Legacy Insecticons, but Kickback having silver wings without having to worry about doing it myself is a huge bonus and the less bright purple would probably be an improvement.

Hrm. When is that due out? Wonder how much time I have to waffle

That's... Not terrible. So far I'm certain on Skywarp and the accessories, but I go back and forth on the Insecticons. Will that purple win out over the dropped toy sticker (I assume) deco? It might yet. I might even end up just dropping (heh) Bombshell for reasons mentioned above, and replace my Hasbro ones with the other two (assuming Kickback has solid plastic wings, as if not he'll go too).

I'm slowly turning MotUxTF Man-at-Bee into a new version of Pretender Bumblebee. Last Friday I picked up Animated Clawful which was the best match I could find for the red legs and body on the original. (I know the blue crotch should be red but the only good option for that us Origins Roboto who I don't have and is expensive on the secondary market.)

I've got white arms from Prince adam and a set of arm armor for the other side both coming this week from ebay.

-ZacWilliam, considering either the Blond head from Sketchbook He-man or from the upcoming Origins 200x Adam.

That's actually a really clever idea! My local Target has had MotU Bumblebee and Megatron on clearance, but I've passed on them as I'm not a MotU fan and have been trying to be more picky with what I buy to preserve precious space (to varying degrees of success), but using them as Classic Pretender bodies is actually tempting.
