Hunh. Usually blind boxes have SOMEthing on them to indicate... I know I did that for the megablox halo stuff back when...

Well... if it's actually completely random (other than weight, which is what my google searching suggests.)... then I get them from imaginaire and save the money.
I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect weight may also not be useful in this case. I've seen where other blind-boxed items in the past have contained weights in some boxes that served no purpose other than to make it more difficult to determine what's in the box by weight. Lighter items would get more weights, such that each box would have essentially the same weight regardless of which figure was inside.

Blokees don't have weights in them exactly, but I have noticed that some boxes will have desiccant packages in them of varying sizes. The apparent randomness of it makes me suspect they're a mechanism to prevent determining what's in the box based on the weight. They might be similarly intended to homogenize the box weights, but I suspect they are truly randomized as to what boxes get a package and what size it is so that there's no standard weight for any particular figure.

I go back to the fact that the eBay sellers who sell a ton of these by figure are opening the boxes. If there were any trick to figuring it out without opening them, I'd bet they'd figure it out and use that as an excuse to demand higher prices.

Been trying not to get into another thing, but I grabbed a few of these little guys on impulse, and........damnit. I'm hooked now, aren't I.

So I got three more (1 shining, one galaxy, 1 defender.) and now have Megatron, ironhide, shattered glass ultra magnus, and vehicle mode thundercracker.

Despite the advantageous price point: I don't think I'll be putting in the effort to get any more defenders. Right now it's too much work for a 5 piece model kit. If they were just... on the shelf and I could grab them, yeah sure. But right now I need to put in an order on a website, wait for fulfillment and then go pick them up.

Definetly getting more shining down the line though: that jive is gorgeous.

Two thoughts of note:

1.) I am very sorely tempted to get some 1:18th scale garage diorama backgrounds and some bar and pub dollhouse furniture and mocking up Maccadams old oil house.

2.) you think blokees would ever do a medabots line?

Does Blokees have a presence in Japan? Cuz that's the only market where Medabots isn't a dead franchise.

Just an FYI:
Walmarts are getting their “Gift Trains” displays for the holidays, and they got the $5 Blokees sets in them. While the main aisle seems to be getting Parallel Universe (IDW Prime), the offerings in the feature are Autobot Run (Bumblebee). For us late comers, solid chance to get some older guys.
YMMV with the exact mix at your store, though.

Yes, Blokees started in Japan. And Medabots was in the news recently (last week, I think) about the rights finally going back to the creators, so something like a Blokees deal could be on the table.

I did not know that they had lost it, or whatever.

(I do seem to have been misinformed about Blokees starting in Japan.)

Apparently the licensing deal for Medabots ended up falling down a legal hellpit, one of those "we own the rights but refuse to use the property or let it revert" situations that happens all too often. But that finally got resolved in the original creators' favor.

---Dave, still needs to build the Classic Class TFOne Megatronus he bought.

Fun with scale between the Galaxy and Defender classes.

"Family: increased." Also, my headcanon is that the yellow tape inside his chest is Buzzsaw. (Also also, I really need to get around to painting Ravage and Laserbeak.)

Say, these little guys are neat, and I'm having decent luck with pulls, let's try a few more. Hopefully no vehicle mo--
