Saw the Target app showed Mixmaster in stock at my local store, so I stopped in on the way to work. They had to get it from the back, but my team is now complete! Hoping to do some shots of the different teams and characters, along with some alt modes, over the next few days. For now though, there's this:

Kinda wish I had the Kids Logic set now...

You should get the Blokees Defenders set as well! I mean, may as well go all the way, right?
Oh, I have them. 😆 Didn't put out the robot mode guys since it's only Bonecrusher and Scavenger. (I really hope they do the rest!) The vehicles will be in the alt mode pics, assuming I get to those.

I think Show.Z FINALLY shipped the Devastator kit, so hopefully it'll only be a couple more weeks before I can assemble him!

Darn it, now I want that set.

How well do the wings attach to the body compared to the official ones? One of the official wings on mine just refuses to stay attached to its post.

I got my copy a while back and I haven't had any problems, thou I not messed around with him much but they stay in place pretty well, the only thing that doesn't stay in place are the panels that go over the front of his legs, I need to glue mine down at some point, otherwise, he is a good display piece with the upgrade attached, same can be said for the Nova Prime upgrade, that really improves the general look of the figure robot mode

They stay on pretty solidly.

I just need to do it, I got a bunch of things I want to do, but its a matter of being in the mood or having time for it, such as a lego lighting project of mine, things just not gone to plan in some ways, but now the days are drawing in, I'm planning to spend some time working on the project, when the bricks arrive to aid this project of mine and I've already eyed my future lighting projects, but first I'll complete the ones I've been nelecting for months, so gluing those panels into place, will come at some point, when I'm ready to do it as when I open the Super glue tube, I would use a bit of the glue and left with the rest and it dries out despite the lid being on and becomes useless to me, which is a downside of Super glue

I was really wanting to get that Vector Prime kit, but decided to hold off due to finances. If you need to glue on the leg panels, that just might drop it from a maybe to a pass. I really don't like making permanent changes like that. I'll do it if it's worthwhile enough, but I'm not sold on it yet. For now, I think I'll just wait and see what they do for AotP VP. I've been assuming he'll just be a packaging refresh, but between how all-out they've been going on all the rest and the fact that they didn't go ahead and include him in the big display they had a while back, I'm starting to wonder if they might surprise us.

Anyway, finally got to spend a bit more time with the Constructicons. Some bot-mode pics first.

Universe 1.0 Blastcharge is missing all his missiles
Titanium Unicron, Heroes of Cybertron Megatron, Kreon Skyward, and Legends/Legion walmart Grimlock were in a $5 bag
Cliff jumper was a purchase and the seller didn't want to try and sell the orange spider on it's own so...
Studio Series Magnus was an item I had a friend order for me from Pulse.
Kingdom Inferno and premier edition Hound are open, but complete.
And Splicer is Splicer.

Maybe its the lighting, but The G1 guys are a lot more Blue-ish side of purple then I remember.
The lighting is definitely having an impact. They look more blue than purple to me in the pictures. In person, they are definitely substantially more blue than the CW or SS86 purples, but they still immediately read as purple.

For what it's worth, these G1 toys are the Encore release. I don't remember noticing any substantial differences between them and the originals, but I also really didn't notice how different the purples were between all these until you pointed it out. (I was more focused on the differences in the greens.)

I'm not really sure if I still have my original G1 Constructicons around anywhere for comparison. If I do, it's probably somewhere like a junk crate in the garage. The Constructicons were among my most-loved G1 Transformers. They were also on the fragile side, even for G1, so I'm afraid they got to the point of being basically unusable. I'm just not sure if I tossed them into a forgotten crate for sentimental value, or if I finally just threw them away.

For reference, Hook was my favorite, and the most damaged. Both his legs broke off at the knees. The end of his crane arm broke off. The peg that Bonecrusher attaches to broke off. Scrapper's canopy was missing and the internal mechanism linking his head to the scoop tabs was broken. Mixmaster's mixing drum had broken off. I have a feeling there might have been another couple breakages, but that's all I can remember at the moment. On top of that, every joint on every bot had loosened to the point of providing almost no resistance. It was technically still possible to form Devastator, but it was very difficult to get him to stand, and breathing in his general direction was enough to cause him to collapse. 😟

I don’t think it’s so much that the G1 constructicon purple is particularly blue, just that the newer ones are comparatively much redder.

Also purple is notoriously difficult to photograph

I put the order for this in back in December. BBTS being BBTS didn't get it in until like last week.

I'm happy with it. Everything snaps together nicely and they figured out a clever use for the abandoned Jihaxus leg tailfin tabs.

Even the shin guards don't NEED glue to stay on, but it does help.
Normally I'd be with you against permanent changes but given how unsightly those Jihaxus leg wires are... I donno. I don't feel too bad about it. I can't see myself wanting to go to the stock legs again.

As for what they have planned for AotP... anything is possible with this team. I still opted for the set because a straight refresh is pretty likely IMO, and truth be told? The DNA set gives him some exaggerated super robot aesthetics I really like.

This was my first DNA kit and while I'm not itching to get more (I think their Nova Prime one is butt ugly) it was a pleasant enough experience that I'm willing to give them a shot again if they have anything coming out that looks interesting.

You can use hot glue as a semi-permanent way to affix the shin covers. You’ll need to be a little extra careful when applying it so that it isn’t visible but it comes off with enough force and the residue can be scraped off.
