You know, sometimes the best 3rd party toys are when they take a character and then do their own thing with him.

I really like his colors. I don't know if he's really based on anything, but he looks damn good.

I thought they were both meant to be shattered glass versions?
They are. I think he was just asking if the color scheme was picked to represent something, but are being used as Shattered Glass. I think they are just meant to be kind of opposing colors for Shattered Glass, but aren't necessarily based off of any existing character or other IP characters. He just looks cool :)

I knew SG Overkill only showed up in a text story where his color wasn’t described. Turns out a drawing of him showed up in a flyer or something which is about the same as this toy but more teal than pine green. Apparently based off a GI joe also named Overkill

That’s a great set. I put it as one of the best overall combiners I own to the point I don’t even care that the arms and legs are swapped.

Currently waffling on the yellow set myself.

Okay, yeah, these guys are great.

About the size of a modern Leader, so for the price (two packs for about $100, so also about the price of a modern Leader per figure), they're a great value. Nice and solid with good ratchets in most of the joints and a good range of motion.

The LED eyes are also a nice touch, although my Scavenger's is a little dodgy. Have to get the magnet at just the right angle and his gun's not great for it. Scrapper's gun is probably the easiest for actually getting in behind the heads, especially on Scavenger and Mixmaster, since they have higher backpacks.

Can't wait for the third set to come in so I can complete the team.

Holy crap... those look amazing. I wonder if I could sell my TFC Hercules and pick this guy up instead.

Unfortunately, Herc isn’t worth much nowadays. I’d still recommend thr Mech Invasion Devy green kr yellow though. They’re some of the best toys released recently. Articulation, detail, transformation, materials and design are all top notch at a reasonable price. Only real sore point is that it’s not all that Geewun

It's G1 enough for me, in a Classics "reinvention" way rather than the current push for screen accuracy. (Plus, my current Devastator is the Energon set, so clearly I'm not THAT G1 oriented.)

Yeah it’s my shelf’s devastator because of the quality and aesthetic. I just recognize it’s not that widespread.
Anyway the legs are good if a bit samey. The arms are great and Mixmaster is my favorite for the set because of his hand candy transformation. Overall though, the torso set impressed me the most with how it forms such a stable nonpartsforming torso so simply. Wish combined mode had a bit more purple but eh it’s big, it transforms well and it’s pretty cheap. Can’t wait for their volcanicus.
