Nice problem to have, potentially, but also a potential headache for everyone else. Glad they cancelled them for the time being and hope they can sort it out.

I don't know if I ever found out more about this, but has there been an explanation for Star OP Hot Rod's spoiler gaps? Doesn't seem to need them for the Microtrailer or to stand at the turret, or to sit in the chest cockpit.

I have, and have seen, the same question. I know someone pointed out that early pictures show those holes weren't that large originally and were modified at some point. So they presumably were changed for a reason. However, I haven't seen anything indicating what that reason is.

Luckily he flinched at the last second so the debt collectors didn't quite get his kneecaps.

If it turns out these were just, like, mold vent/whatever holes in the dumbest position possible, I'm going to be very annoyed.

I'd love the original two-line vents over these absurd gouges. Third party upgrade whatevers could probably give him his original guns that could tab into those. Now as it is I'm going to have to look for gap fillers to cover up these insane bodily potholes and pray that whichever 3P company it is, is that good at paint matching.

I’m on the side of a molding thing or factory error vs a functional change. If they were for attaching something, the slots or a simple rhomboid shape would be enough. I’d expect that the cutout was supposed to be on the other side of the spoiler.

Well, assuming the 'full' art that was shown today is accurate (and we know already that it often isn't, the "Star Convoy/PowerMaster Optimus Prime hybrid statue in the art doesn't so far actually exist) then Bruticus IS a different use of the frame system, where Brawl and Swindle are on the FRONT of the legs. Also does look like they might use it to give the 'BlastOff Chest'. Total guess on my part but maybe they took the spring-shutter budget and used it instead for extra paint? Maybe the chest is a detachable drone?

I'm glad I kept the various guns from the Red Cog pack, in case they cut Onslaught's. It also looks like they see Blast Off's engines as arm weapons, it makes me wonder if they are blast-effect compatible. I used the Amazon Blast-Off as a combiner weapon because they were, and I never managed to get a CW Bruticus assembled.

If Bruticus is going to need extra paint, it's because of the Blast-off colored chest that uses colors not otherwise on Onslaught or Bruticus. The chest is probably a non-detachable piece with maybe the wings folding up for transformation going by what looks like a pin on the art. If the previous frame combiners are any indication, Onslaught's gun will probably be okay for onslaught but on the small side for Bruticus. Hopefully Vortex takes up more space on the arm slab than on the art. Back cannons look a little short but beefier than we usually get so it works out okay.

Hopefully we get redecoes of the set. I'd go for a G2 and Ruination but I'm also interested in seeing how toy colors work out.

I suspect Bruticus's frame might be a hybrid between the styles used for Menasor/Superion and Devastator. Probably the same as the former for the upper body and arms, but I'm guessing Brawl and Swindle will just connect at the knee like Scrapper and Mixmaster. Having to incorporate the combiner ankle joint would then explain why they're Voyagers instead of Deluxes. Looks like there's probably still a foot plate that will come with Onslaught. Hopefully, Bruticus will still use the same thigh connector to allow leg swapping, even if it's just connecting a little stub with the knee joint.

Thank you, I never saw the detail, before. In those frames you can see the cars and planes on the back of the legs but Bruticus has solid legs from the knee down. I also realized since Onslaught uses the truck guns on his own and Bruticus's back both, that the 'frame' parts are actually rather minimal, mostly they'd make the big flat part of the truck behind the guns, so there's less actual 'frame' kibble to be had anyway. Not sure how they'll get a mini-base mode out of it.

Bruticus has his Boots Because. Maybe he's a Bionic Six homage in that none of his boots actually match.

"These Boots are Made for Walking. And also made in Vietnam. So they cost more."

I wonder how accurate this art actually is? You can see what looks like a flip-out heel. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Edit: I think Exatron's right, an interview popped up saying that Brawl has the ratchet for the ankle built in, so he's more of the leg than just a front cover.
