So it's even more show-accurate in that regard.

I’m liking Blue Booster better with properly colored shoes. He’s decent but really needed dedicated joints for better dynamic running poses.

This guy… isn’t great. There’s an effort to look like Tails but the plane tail halves don’t evoke the twin tails very well and between the red color and kibbly design, are generally obfuscated. Given the propeller chest hurts the resemblance even more, I’d (I can’t believe I’m saying this) prefer if the propeller ended up on his butt. Dude can't even do the Tails flying pose. Transformation is decent but the wing assemblies that attach to his shoulders are not pinned or even ball jointed, they’re just two separate parts on small pegs, so they tend to pop off while transforming him. The shoulder assemblies themselves don’t really lock in place and will dislodge when moving his arms. Kind of reeks of running out of budget. Articulation is standard in theory but balance isn’t great due to the big heavy tails and always looks awkward due to the massive kibble. You can prop him up using the tails as a tripod but it’s kind of lame to have to use the focal point of the design just to stand him. Lastly, the upper wings have some kind of paint damage out of the box, which far as I can tell from the symmetric and linear pattern comes from how he was packaged. Kind of a lemon IMO.

Overall the set’s okay and not too expensive but it’s not particularly good overall. Sonic is decent but Tails is overall mediocre. Not a bad buy but unless you really like Sonic Transformers, it's not really worth the asking price.

I can see what they were going for, and why they'd make these so evocative of the characters. Some of the execution is actually kinda clever, and the altmodes are great-looking.

But the compromises and uneven outcomes make me wish they'd just made new characters with their own designs (and maybe included minifigures instead) rather than going the Star Wars Transformers route. It's what's worked better for Collaborative. With the ironic exception of the Mandalorian collab, which turned out looking amazing.

Wingtail's big blank eyes make him look so dead inside.

I thought these were their own characters? And that mini figures was what Star Wars did?

These are, but much more directly evocative of Sonic and Tails than, say, Party Wallop was of a specific Ninja Turtle (or Metalhead) or Ectotron was of any of the Ghostbusters. Also, iirc Ultimate X-Spanse (who had gear that evoked specific X-Men, but wasn't directly, say, robo-Cyclops beyond the gear/visor) came with minifigures.

"Fire trucks? Sharks? Fools! Galvatron can post any pictures he pleases!"

(Also I am very jealous about having neither the new shark nor the new fire truck)

(Achai upgrade head. I'm not able to go after this sort of thing a lot, but this excellent design not being 3d printed -- and showing up somewhere accessible to me at a good price for a full helmet and two face panels -- meant it was too good to pass up.)
