Skyrim! Because all the really good stuff never actually leaves.

I finished the Thieves Guild last night in Oblivion. That's all the guilds done.

All I need to do now for Platinum Trophy is complete the main quest. I actually never did get around to the main quest in my PS3 playthrough. I may have to try that this time, particularly since there are trophies attached to it.

But first I think I'll want to do the rest of the daedric quests...maybe do some general leveling.

The main thing that makes me nervous about the main quest though is that I know near the end there's a timed bit. Timed sections always make me anxious. Particularly in an open world, I guess I'm just worried wasting precious time getting lost as hell not knowing where to go or what to do.

So for those who've finished the game before, I guess I have a few questions.

1. Is the time limit generous?

2. Can I save right before the timed section so I don't lose a lot of progress if I fail?

3. Is the point of no return clearly marked?

Put the finishing touches on Two Moons Adeptorium... got lucky and pretty much everything left that I needed(mostly statues) came back to the Crown Store today. Lots of images, so putting behind a spoiler.

The entryway into the courtyard:

The testing grounds for new students. Left is the armory, right is where the masters observe the fight from.

A little further down is the supplies for the adeptorium, watched over by an alfiq banker.

There's more I could show, like the upstairs and downstairs hallways, the wayshrine itself, the wine-rack and small library area opposite the museum display, but that's probably enough images as-is. There's also a small shrine to Khenarthi around the corner from the sacristy, a little relaxation nook on the other side of the sacristy overlooking a waterfall, and opposite that contemplation area is a shaded path with its own little hidden bench to hide from the sun. There's also working metal gates for the fountain area, the wayshrine area, and a stone gate with a mural on it for the testing area. The private quarters also has a private bathing area, with a nightstand and some fur shampoos. And a host of other minor details I've added

Just going to put this here because, dang, this music will never not be good no matter how many pointless releases Skyrim gets.

Speaking of, playing so much Oblivion lately has really made me want to do another Skyrim run.

Damnit, Todd!

The time limit is absurdly generous. I think I finished it in less than half the time given. My character was level 2 at the time because I was trying to finish the game while avoiding leveling up at much as possible, so my stats weren't the greatest.
Yeah, it was absurdly easy, especially with 100% Chameleon. I just finished the main quest. something I never did on the PS3. And now that's given me another Platinum. Sweet!

It's so cool to have finally finished it. Not sure if I care enough to do Shivering Isles or Knights of Nine...but it's still pretty awesome to have actually finished the main quest.

On the one hand, Shivering Isles is great fun and one of the best DLCs Bethesda has done.

On the other hand, there's currently a bug that causes the game to consistently crash to desktop on PS5 during the final quest, so possibly waiting for a patch for that would make things easier.

(It is possible to avoid the crash using the wait function, but just fix the game, people)

Uh...you do realize this is Bethesda we're talking about.

You know what I find funny? In Oblivion the main big bad is Mehrunes Dagon. Anyone want to take a guess what my most used Deadric Artifact is in Skyrim?

Well, there's also Hircine's ring. And now that I think about it, Ebony Mail really helps to supplement my stealth archer skills. And really, what's the point of Molag Bal's Mace without Azura's Star.

Yeah, I didn't think that post through very well.

But I was originally meaning Mehrunes Razor. The possibility (however small) of doing an insta-kill, particularly on dragons, was just too valuable...until I started smithing my own enchanted dragon bone swords...which pretty much caused me to put the razor into storage.

Wow! That post really was not thought out very well.

Holy crap! Mehrune's Razor is in Oblivion. I would not have guessed that. Seeing as how Mehrune Dagon was the big bad, it feels kind of weird to be using his weapon. Niiiiiice! Doesn't have the same enchantments that it does in Skyrim though.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.
Citizen
Yeah, some time between oblivion and skyrim; magic "changed". I think it's one of the enchanting books in skyrim that mention it, not sure which one though. The dual enchantment fable, I think...
