From all shown and indicated, TLS’s MASK line is roughly comparable to Masters of the Universe Origins or Transformers Missing Link: reasonably close approximations of the originals with modern flourishes.
They SHOULD be compatible…but keep in mind that TLS’s will be new molds so there might be some minor variation at play.

The new MASK line is launching in a few hours. TLS has a retailer list, but for US consumers, BBTS will have first dibs, with other retailers rolling out September 1. Due to the tariff shenanigans this past spring, prices DID increase (though, TLS also added the variant masks in the offerings as well).

The time has come for me to make some decisions. I think I may be in for the Rhino and Thunderhawk, as I don't have any version of those, nor did I ever as a kid (but always wanted them.) The Switchblade and Condor I have "G1" versions of, though neither is quite 100% complete. My Switchblade, for instance, is missing the blades, so it really doesn't work in Helicopter mode, but $90 is a lot of extra money for something I already kind of have? Tough call.

Saw somewhere that it was supposed to be at 8am Eastern, but obviously that has come and gone. Maybe they meant 8am Central, as BBTS is located in that time zone? (It is the best time zone.)

CORRECTION: 10 AM Eastern, 9 Central. The person who said 8am Eastern had seen 9 Central and adjusted the wrong way.

I decided to save myself $50 and not get the Condor or T-Bob/Scott (I have an original T-Bob, and this one doesn't look to do anything different). I did decide to order a minty-fresh Switchblade, I can always cancel my order or try to sell my original if I decide I don't need both.

FWIW, getting the BBTS Wave 1 bundle IS the best overall value if you’re all in. Save like $30 over buying each, but only costs $15 more than buying the entire set with the base Rhino.

I’m still debating. MASK was never a “major” toy line for me. It is one of the miasma of assorted “dabbles” I did in my youth (like Ring Raiders, or Dick Tracy, or COPS, or Robocop, etc). LOVE the format (Computer Warriors and Dino-Riders were my jam!), but given the cost and the ability to “be picky” to a degree…Not sure I’m in for this assortment. That said, there are a LOT of wave later wave offerings that I feel more compelled to buy into.
We’ll see how well and how long TLS can roll this line along.

Me and my brother had pretty near all of the first two years of MASK. (You can tell where we lost interest because the first two years we had literally all the toys and year 3 I don't even recognize any of them when I look at a catalog).

I actually still have a big box of old MASK toys somewhere but they are all missing a lot of little parts. (which I've looked up on ebay and are generally super expensive to replace )

So In theory I'd like all of these and a bunch more. In practice they're expensive (I knew they'd be) and I already collect a lot of stuff. I think I may be ok sticking to the smaller things here. The Condor and Thunderhawk now. I'd do the Piranha in a second. The others can go on a wishlist as maybes.

A friend had it, and we used it as our ersatz Autobot Headquarters.

And I mean, as long as one isn't too fussed over the details (or is willing to do some customization), it could still work if they were to re-release it.

Be funny as hell if a third-party made some sort of conversion kit for it...

I would be shocked if they got to it in the next year. I'm still open to the idea of them NOT even getting to it simply because of economic reasons.

If TLS made it, I'm betting a $250+ price range. Is there are enough demand? We'll find out. Personally, I gravitate to the "mobile bases", like the Outlaw or Goliath or Slingshot.

The Slingshot was one of my favorites, ultimate shellformer simplicity but it worked perfectly. Matt Tracker got the jet when my Thunderhawk broke apart. I also liked the Piranha, super simple but great for a kid. Though I did find that, for a 'submarine', its stickers didn't hit handle the bathtub well. Then again, neither did Thundercracker's, so that may have been user error.
