Ha! Very true. Yellow Cliffjumper has been here all along! At the very least, Pretender Bumblebee's toy has a yellow Cliffjumper head.
Yellow Cliffjumper was inside us all along.
Well, inside that one guy, at least.

Is this really a debate?
I'm legit too afraid of breaking a toy the first time around so I always use the instructions for the first few goes. Then I'll do a couple transformations without the instructions to see if I've got it in my memory now.
"Debate" is perhaps a strong word for it, but I have seen a lot of back-and-forth discussion from back in the day. That's what I mean. Some people like to figure it out themselves, others use them if they get stuck, others use them from the start. I don't think I've ever seen a "debate" about this, and this is the fandom that debated Rumble and Frenzy's colour schemes.
Usually it's just people stating their preferences.
Goes even farther back than that."Debate" is perhaps a strong word for it, but I have seen a lot of back-and-forth discussion from back in the day.
Of course, Hasbro pretty much fostered the idea of it being a "challenge" themselves...
Naturally, they had to stop after one kid was beaten to death by another using a Supreme Cheetor as an improvised club, thus leading to the cancellation of Fortress Maximus in RiD 2001 over safety concerns, but it had its moment.
Oh, shoot! Yeah, I knew it felt like I was forgetting something.Goes even farther back than that.
