If I had a nickel for every time Phineas and Ferb came back, I would have ten cents. Which is not a lot, but weird that it's happened twice.

My daughters watched through this show on their iPads and I heard quite a bit of it and found it pretty clever. Then I saw it on screen and oh. my. gosh. is it visual language terrible.

It can have some issues, but its an enjoyable show. It's set in the same world/town as Milo Murphy's Law, and there is a crossover event there. So check that show out as you might like it better. That is how I got hooked on the series.

Well, they have ordered 40 episodes, so we are at least going to get that.

...wait, when was the first time they came back?

And I really gotta finish Milo Murphy's Law. That on Disney +?

Anyway...

[Doof] Well, I am counting the Specials and Milo Murphy as the first time, which should really mean three times, but you know, I wanted to make the nickel joke, so that wouldn't work, so I just combined them into one, and PERRY THE PLATAPUS! [/doof]

And I really gotta finish Milo Murphy's Law. That on Disney +?
Yup, both seasons of it!

Well, this is just perfect.

Season 5's first ten episodes were supposed to be on Disney Plus yesterday, but no sign of it here in Canada.

Not sure why. Tried looking for answers, got back Reddit threads, and people who say they reached out seem to have all gotten different answers, and I'm no closer to knowing when/if they're adding it here. I didn't even know this would be an issue.

So, I did what I figured Phineas and Ferb would do, and used ingenuity to find a way!

(Actually, one of the Reddit threads had a link. Haven't gotten to watch it yet, though.)

I watched a couple of the episodes with the kids this weekend. They were pretty great and messed with your expectations.

I've seen the first episode and the "new" theme song, which was recommended to me on YouTube. Glad I didn't wait for that one. I get that the original is a classic, but to change one word and a little of the way it sounds and then promote it like a new thing? Well, it kinda got my hopes up.

Besides, they did all that stuff last summer. I want a song about things they're going to do this summer.

I don't -- can't -- hate it or anything, but there were certain expectations set by process that I feel weren't really met.

I should talk to Doofenshmirtz about this. I'm sure he'd agree, and probably even have a solution.

I've watched eps on and off and two of the specials (the around the world which I thought was the original finale end of summer and the evil alternate world movie).

Rechecking in again and, geez cripes of a stick! The end of the first ep was a shocker! Like, an actual fatality?!?! It didn't stick but that was shocking. Has Doof ever killed someone like that before?

Also, I didn't like how Perry connected two plugs in the pouring rain. Isn't that dangerous? He and others nearby could have been electrocuted.

(Also skipped ahead because I heard about the evolution of Stacey Hirano and holy cow, I loved that)

Yeah I just started watching this and I'm glad I'm not the only one a bit bummed by the 'New intro'

Like you said, they did all that already. I want a song about other things they could do.

Or at the very least have Cadance say: "MOM! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence. AGAIN!" Give me something man.

I really wish American shows and cartoons would take a page from anime, and give us a new opening and ending on a regular basis.

They used to, once upon a time...

Every season of Transformers G1, G.I. Joe, and Beast Wars got individual intros and endings (well, save Beast Wars wrt endings, but I think it even got four intros). Even the stuff that was just reruns!

TMNT got three different intros, and at least as many endings. Power Rangers changed every season, or more.

Garfield and Friends had about four intros, I think. Two used the same theme song, and one was US-only, but still.

Those, just off the top of my head.

Okay is this just a glitch with my Disney Plus? I'm still watching through the new season, not having time is a sad reality, but I'm on like episode 5 and the intro doesn't even say "There's another 104" It just starts with the old "There's a 104"

So they couldn't even bother to keep the "New" intro going? Really? Was it just the first episode only?

Btw, looking at s1 eps, I'm surprised to realize that Perry actually connects his kicks and punches to Dr Doofenshmirtz.

Had it in my head that Batman Animated 's original rule of no physical contact during fights also applies to other shows. Either sfx or pull aways instead during fights.

The rules were a bit more nuanced than that, if memory serves. Batman couldn't just punch a guy - nothing that a little kiddy could imitate - but he could perform a controlled martial arts move or something like that. And they did apply elsewhere, as there was a reason why Spider-Man used a lot of webbing on his foes rather than outright punching them. Besides, y'know, selling toys.

I just got through the fourth earlier, and it had it.

Might be network vs. cable, too. Stuff seems LOTS more lax on cable.
