Kilmar Abrego Garcia brought back to US, appears in court on charges of smuggling migrants

Kilmar Abrego Garcia appeared in a Tennessee courtroom Friday, hours after he was brought back to the U.S. to face charges of transporting undocumented migrants.

Mistakenly deported Salvadoran native Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been brought back to the United States where he will face criminal charges for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the U.S.

A two-count indictment, which was filed under seal in federal court in Tennessee last month and unsealed Friday, alleges Abrego Garcia, 29, participated in a yearslong conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the interior of the country.

Abrego-Garcia is alleged to have participated in more than 100 such trips, according to the indictment. Among those allegedly transported were members of the Salvadoran gang MS-13, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Now this poor guy's gotta deal with what are likely a bunch of bullshit charges because the Trump admin can't not be assholes.

As long as he gets a fair judge (which likely seems the case. Even republican judges don't jive with being threatened.) then he'll kick the charges and be on his way. Then he can start the process of suing the US government: and that'll be the big case. There's probably a dozen law firms that would be willing to do that one for free as long as they get an easy win over trump.

The fact they chose California as the flash point is also an indicator that they don't think these things through LA has like 4M+ people. Sending every single ICE officer is ~20K, LAPD is 9K, LASD is 10K. Going in at 100:1 manpower – leaving zero bodies for literally anything else – is foolish...

The @DeptofDefense is mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized - they are on high alert.

I doubt this will happen, but the rhetoric is escalating very quickly.

Except almost all of those weapons are in the hands of Trump supporters. I could see a lot of them showing up to "help" the military, taking potshots at anyone who pisses them off and escalating conflicts way worse than the military would on its own. But Trump will praise them for doing so and criticize the "cowardly" professional soldiers who tried to deescalate, demand they be discharged and the brownshirts replace them...

...Which will lead to a lot of trained soldiers out of work and pissed off at Trump, and a military stuffed with yahoos who have no idea how to fight a real war.

Remember when we learned Trump was actually in the Epstein files? I think the news cycle has moved to different Trump stories about 3 or 4 times since then, but it seems like that should have been bigger news.

We learned that Elon Musk said he was in the Epstein files. He didn't tell us anything we didn't already know, and he's also not any more credible a source than our collective gut feelings. (Calling someone a pedophile when he doesn't get his way is established behavior for him.)

Many have forgotten that there allegations back in 2016 that Trump partook in same “proclivities” as his “great friend” Jeffery Epstein. There was even a couple lawsuits filed in regards to his conduct. One was dismissed, but one was dropped, reportedly, due to witness issues and possible death threats.

At this point, short of an actual indictment, it’s going to be a non-event until the Epstein files are release in full and uncensored/redacted. But I think the reason it hasn’t garnered much traction is because…well…we all pretty well know the kind of person Trump is. It would likely surprise few if Trump was in there and using his connections and power to protect himself.

And given what we know about musk: If trump actually is a pedophile, he would still have no problem letting him hang around his kids and giving him money.

What Trump is really saying is that he wants to control WHO gets federal funds. If states don't suck up to him, they might not get federal help when disasters hit. And considering the increasing frequency of "once a lifetime" weather events?
Also, it's not like "hurricane season" isn't a recurring thing, or anything...
