Proof that they don't understand how regulations work... then again maybe they do, considering my last point below.

The regulation is just a "Here's how you real-world implement this law that was passed" and if they try to take a case to court with a regulation that is improperly written, the court will just send them back to rewrite it. There is even a level of judicial review before it can even be entered into the books, as called out in the article. And with how AI makes mistakes all the time, it's just going to make it harder on the enforcing agencies and on the companies, since the companies will have to spend extra to try to reach complaince(because lack of a regulation doesn't mean the statue doesn't exist, let alone incorrect regulations possibly causing them to violate it in the first place), AND the agencies are going to have a lot of cases thrown out because of incorrect regulation, though that latter part may be considered a feature by some, rather than a bug.

On the other hand, they're smart enough at least to have existing staff read through it for mistakes... but we'll see if they try to override them.

Honestly, it's worth a shot. The "Here's how you real-world implement this law that was passed" processes we have today are indefensible. If the AI is able to connect the dots in a multi-step sequence, it may be able to flag steps that don't actually move a process forward in any way.

Funny thing is that if he is using Grok there's a good chance it will actually implement said regulations in a left-leaning way. Even Musk's AI is more left leaning than the bulk of the Trump administration(and Musk), despite Musk's efforts to steer it in a more right wing direction.

That's where AI has real potential. Unless it's told what conclusions it must or mustn't reach, it will just go where the data leads. If it works I'd like to see it deployed in a bunch of areas. Like redistricting maps. Just feed it the rules and let it find the most efficient result.

Just set up another factory taking them apart again and let them feed each other in a loop. An orobourus of incompetence.

Hell, the second factory will have a pretty easy time of it, given how the ugly lumps of scrap keep falling apart on their own anyway.

I'm sure the only reason the Tesla factory is still operating and profitable is because of the government EV grants it will be sucking in, and a disassembly plant would not have that advantage...
