While I am sure Trump doesn't understand what the gold in Ft Knox is all about, I don't think it was his idea at all. It appears that a conspiracy theory had sprung up that probably/possibly the crooked Democrats had stolen the gold. I am sure Trump has received solid confirmation and isn't really wondering about it, but it is good publicity. Elon loves the publicity. Otherwise, they'd get on with it. They've been talking about it for a couple weeks now. The President has his own plane, so I'm pretty sure he can go do this about any day he chooses, certainly on a weekend. So they are both pretending that this is a concern as long as the news cycle and social media keep talking about it.
Can someone who is more in tune with financial analysis clue me in to something? I check my accounts at least weekly to see if anything is amiss and I never freeze them while I do it. Is there an actual reason that all of these freezes help with the work? Or are they just making an issue of making sure not another cent is wasted before they have checked on it?

The meeting was canceled just days after a CDC vaccine advisory committee meeting was abruptly postponed.
Or, more likely the case, the production of this year’s vaccine will be delayed until they decide which flavor(s) to produce. The reason they make these decisions NOW is so that there is ample time to build up a supply for the fall when people start mingling in closed spaces as the weather gets colder.
Problem is that if they wait too long, there won’t be time to build up enough supply to reach a viable “herd immunity” level. You’d have a “limited access” situation like many of the early COVID vaccines where specific groups were allowed to get it before the wider populace.
That said, working in a hospital, flu season seems to be hitting later due to longer summers (at least here in Oklahoma). I’m not sure it would be THAT bad an idea to wait for the current season to wind down before figuring out which strains to target next winter.
I guess the natural assumption is the RFK really believes the things he says and isn't just being contrary. A worm did eat some of his brain. A late, short, or no flu shot followed by an obvious high flu season next year could be very instructive for him.

If the trailers full of corpses didn't make them take COVID seriously, I don't think it'll work for the flu either.
I honestly believe that RFK Jr and people like him believe in eugenics and societal Darwinism; the whole point of removing vaccines is to weed out the ‘weak’ and ‘imperfect’. Unfortunately I think that the global pandemic likely radicalised such people further.
And he believes that the people who come out on top should be the ones whose brains were eaten by worms and sound like they've been chain smoking for 366 years? If anybody is sticking up for the non-Uberman, it really ought to be this guy.
Edit - This might be a little dark, but assuming that he has some Kennedy money to live on, I really can't understand why he doesn't just live a comfy life and keep his head down. The last place I would want to be, if I were him, is in Washington, DC working for the White House. His dad got shot running for President, his uncle got shot as President. Maybe Uncle Teddy made him feel like it was safe after all? Ted ran for President in 1980. He didn't win, but if he had I think Hinckley would have shot him. He only had one other Kennedy uncle, who was shot down in WW2 while working for the government.

Worst case scenario, there IS a flu shot, but it looks an awful lot like this past year's flu shot, rather than taking advantage of the knowledge that would have gone into predicting this coming year's strains. It would still offer better protection than 1) nothing, or even 2) just relying on having gotten the shot this past year.
Put more in the language he'd likely use (only a tiny bit...), I suspect that he thinks that the nation as a whole is sicker because we fail to weed out the "weak" and "imperfect." Thus, by allowing diseases to take their course, the people who are left are stronger (and not just because the average automatically becomes higher).
(I hope it's clear I'm not trying to make this sound anything less than monstrous)

I believe there was an interview with his family where they said he'd been obsessed with being president since he was a kid. Something about how it was his destiny, blah blah crazy brain worm jive. He's had nothing but money and privilege his entire life. He literally does not understand that the world doesn't revolve around him.
